Clinics @ Community Boards
Led by Lizz Cady
June 24, Thursday, 5:00-7:00pm PDT | Online via Zoom
Lizz Cady’s workshop will give you a basic understanding of a residential lease, as well as explain local laws and protections around this document. She will touch on how to leverage a lease to help with problem solving for both tenants and landlords, as well as additional resources that can assist in obtaining information about unusual or particularly complex issues.
Her workshop will also provide an overview and understanding of the eviction process in California with a focus on the Bay Area in particular. Lizz will review both Ellis Act and At Fault evictions. This will help people understand the process so they can reduce anxiety as they navigate through it.
Lizz will also provide resources and information on connecting with legal or financial assistance for anyone in this process.
Lizz has been working in the area of homelessness and supportive housing for 11 years in a variety of settings including site based permanent supportive housing, residential treatment, scattered site supportive housing, drop in centers, and shelters. She has focused on education and system improvements as ways to improve client outcomes. She has been training and supervising staff around housing and homelessness issues in San Francisco for the past 7 years.
