The Weekly Word...
Dear Church Hill Family,
We are living in turbulent times. Our hearts, minds, and prayers reach out to people who are suffering from the virus, racism, violence, and economic crisis. We pray also for all the first responders who are involved in rebuilding efforts for our society. While it is the time to pray for others, it should be also a time to take care of yourself. How have you been doing? And, how have you been taking care of your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being?
One of great ways to keep well-being is to form and practice good habits. Healthy eating, exercise, and meditation habits would have a good effect on your physical and mental well-being. In the same way, we need “Holy Habits” for not only our spiritual well-being but also spiritual maturity. For 5 weeks from this Sunday (6/28), we are going to think about how to form and practice holy habits in our lives. I would like to invite you all to “Holy Habits 101”
06/28 - Joseph: Live out Holy Habits.
07/05 - Reading the bible TOGETHER!
07/12 – Prayer for problem? Prayer for Promise?
07/19 – Most expensive service: Nonviolent Communication
07/26 – Wonderful Charity: Dreaming in strangers
This week will be an introduction class for the next four weeks. I will preach about Joseph who lived out holy habits. Through the life of Joseph, we will see that holiness comes from not only “separation” but also “constant practices.”
“For I am the Lord your God. You must consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.” (Leviticus 11:44)
I look forward to worshipping with everyone this week!
Yours in Christ,
