This Week at Chapel of Our Saviour

Vestry Spotlight

Tinnin Leskera grew up in the St. Louis area and has been an Episcopalian all her life. She has served the church as an acolyte, an altar guild member, a Sunday school teacher and a cathedral tour guide. A retired clinical social worker, Tinnin and her husband, Dave, moved to Colorado Springs in late 2019 to be with their son, Nick Birger, and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Charlotte, Violet and Jack. Tinnin worked with Cathy Sterling and DeSha in Sunday School with the caterpillar/butterfly project, and she and Dave both worked (and played!) at the Family Fun Center at Feast of St. Arnold this summer.

Tinnin says, "It is with humility and pride that I serve Chapel of Our Saviour as a new vestry member."

Thank you so much, Tinnin. We are blessed to have you!

FEAST OF SAINT ARNOLD

Many thanks to all who volunteered for FOSA and worked so hard to make it such a success! Proceeds will be donated to Westside Cares.

Manitou Chamber Music Festival

at Chapel of Our Saviour

July 9-23, 2023

Join us for evening concerts at Chapel of Our Saviour this summer at 7:30pm on July 11, 14, 18 and a full orchestra on July 21st.

Susan Garsoe and Amanda Bristol are organizing a hospitality committee for these events.

We'll be offering light refreshments after each faculty concert this July, and are looking for donations of brownies, cookies, your mom's famous lemon bars or anything that you would like to contribute, homemade or store bought. Just drop it off and we'll do the rest! If you can help, please email amandab@bristolbrewing.com or call DeSha at 719-633-2667 and we'll tell you when and where to drop off your treats.

Many thanks!

Godly Play

Children’s Ministry every Sunday, 9:50a

Our children gather in the Loft upstairs from the narthex (church lobby) or in the courtyard (weather-permitting) for a time of exploration and wonder called “Godly Play.” Parents and guardians are invited to sign in upstairs and children rejoin their families during the Offertory.

If your children haven’t joined us yet, they are most welcome, and we look forward to meeting and getting to know them.

June 29-July 2, 2023

At Family Adventure Camp, we will have a chance to both pray and play in the beauty of Cathedral Ridge. We’ll introduce new ways to pray and to listen to the God through nature. We’ll also play together, enjoying and celebrating God’s wonderful world, through traditional camp games, crafts, songs, hikes, ropes course, archery, and campfires with s’mores. Come have an adventure in the mountains with the whole family!

Our Shared Stewardship

Pledging for 2023

We invite you to make a pledge to Chapel of Our Saviour for 2023. The operating budget that makes possible the mission and ministry of this community of faith is derived entirely from your generous giving throughout the year. Pledge forms are available in the narthex (back of the church). For more information about pledging and membership at Chapel of Our Saviour contact our Senior Warden, Susan Garsoe sgarsoe@msn.com

Food Pantry

D2 Pantry always needs more food to meet the growing needs of families. Please add them to your weekly grocery list!

Every week, Chapel of Our Saviour collects food to support the D2 food pantry located at Stratmoor Hills Elementary. This weekly ministry is a part of our longtime and ongoing partnership with Westside CARES, our local homeless advocacy organization. We invite you to bring food on Sundays from the list below. You can put the food in the colorful baskets in the narthex when you come for Sunday services. Our children then bring those baskets to the altar as we present our offerings to God.

Feel free to bring food donations to Allen House (Parish House) foyer during the week from Mon-Thurs 9am - 1pm. Call the office at 719-633-2667 when you arrive.
