Unity Project Furthers Anti-Racism Program at Pilgrim Lodge
Sometimes the fence post hit rock.  They'd have to pull the post up, move it back six inches, and hammer it down again. Other times, the post slid easily into sandy ground. Early in June, members of the Anti-Racism Resource Team, Outdoor Ministries Resource Team, and Pilgrim Lodge staff, as well as other Conference volunteers repeated these actions to create a circle of 28 poles plus one in the center. Anti-racism is the mission theme for this summer's camp. Camper's will create PL's version of the Unity Project http://www.unityproject.net/
as a visual representation of the work we're doing together. See more>>

2018 Boundary Awareness Training
Opportunities Sponsored by the
Maine Conference UCC

"Everyday Boundaries" with Rev. Dr. Susan StonestreetUnlike many boundary training's, this workshop does not focus on the kinds of misconduct that wind up in the newspaper, but on the ordinary and vexing boundary conflicts that clergy manage every day. For example, clergy are often torn between the needs of their families and the demands of their congregations. To complicate matters, clergy are often rewarded at church for being over-responsible, and criticized at home. Stir in a congregation's anxiety about decline, the lack of interest from the millennial generation, and worry about the future, and setting boundaries can become an experience of setting sail in a perfect storm. A focus on "Saying No to Say Yes" will help us live more abundantly in our personal lives and ministries.  10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018 @ Union Congregational UCC of Ellsworth Falls, 2 Falls Court, Ellsworth $25.
New! A Sure Foundation resources for equipping clergy and congregations
Copies of a Sure Foundation - a new resource for pastors and congregations in ministry together - are available in limited quantity at the
Conference Office. This resource includes tools for Pastoral Relations Committees, ministry assessment and evaluation, sabbatical resources, departure ethics, and more, along with recommended resources for additional guidance. We recommend giving these to pastors and churches at the start of a new ministry relationship, installations, or other appropriate times. Additional copies may be purchased from UCC Resources here.
