Opportunities

 

Sleep in Heavenly Peace

There are three opportunites to serve with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a ministry that builds and provides beds for children in Gaston County who are currently sleeping on the floor.


CUT DAY / Wednesday, June 3

  • Help cut wood to prepare for build day on Saturday
  • Meet at 8:30AM at Southminster
  • OR - meet at 9:00AM at "Land's End Trail" in Belmont
  • ***SEE DIRECTIONS BELOW***


BUILD DAY / Saturday, June 6

  • Sand and assemble bedframes
  • Meet at 8:00AM at "Land's End Trail" in Belmont
  • Ends after lunch (provided) once beds are loaded and taken to First Presbyterian Church of Belmont
  • ***SEE DIRECTIONS BELOW***


DELIVERY DAY / Saturday, June 13

  • Deliver and assemble beds for recipients
  • Meet at 8:00AM at First Presbyterian Church of Belmont
  • 102 Central Avenue Belmont, NC 28012
  • Usually finished before lunch

DIRECTIONS:

Both the CUT DAY and the BUILD DAY are held at a private residence in Belmont. If using GPS, type in "Lands End Trail, Belmont". From South Point Road, Henry Chapel Road will take you over railroad tracks, continue straight (if GPS prompts, do not turn left on Oakcrest Drive). Henry Chapel Road will lead you to a rock gate, stay to the left at the rock gate and you will see people preparing.

 

Women's Event this Thursday

Our Women's Lunch The Lunch Group will be meeting on June 4th for a ceramics class at AmazinGlaze (321 S Main Street Mount Holly) from 9:00-12:00. They will go to lunch together after at Vasileio's (just down the street) at noon.  We encourage anyone that might be able to come call Debbie Brown (704-516-9578) so that the leader will have enough seats for us.  Come to ceramics by 10:30 if you want to finish your piece) or just join for lunch. 

AmazinGlaze is located in an older building without much parking so you can park on the street across from the studio or at the bank.  

Everyone is welcome bring a friend.

 

This Sunday the Covenant Class will continue their summer study, titled "How Our Neighbors Worship". This class explores various religious beliefs and practices of other faith traditions.

Anyone interested in learning more about these religions are invited and encouraged to attend this study. 

The Covenant Class meets in Classroom 1 at 9:15 on Sunday Mornings.
