“In Body and Spirit”
Worship Leader: Rev. Ian W. Riddell
Worship Associate: Bryna Blum
Are we our bodies or do we inhabit them? And what difference might our answer to that make? As we struggle against those who demand control of other people's bodies, how might our theology and understanding of all of our bodies help us respond?

"The Wide Circle of Universalism"
Worship Leader: Rev. Don Stouder
Worship Associate: Bryna Blum
Since Rev Don preached several times about the “Widening the Circle” report in the summer of 2020, there has been much talk in UU circles of the need for new, liberating theologies. In this sermon, Rev Don calls us back to our Universalist roots, and how, on this Sunday honoring both Father’s Day and Juneteenth, we can celebrate and reclaim the freedom, reason, tolerance, and love that our Universalist faith represents.

JUNE 7th!!!

June is here and that means WNO shenanigans for the Desert Rats who stick around for the summer. I hope you'll join me Monday, June 13 at 6pm, at Legends & Icons in Palm Desert (near the I-10W exit at Washington). We will be inside and they do provide separate checks. Please RSVP to katyfaas@hotmail.com.
Friday Book Club Update

There is no Book Club meeting in June; there will be a meeting Friday, July 15 at the Scanny cabin. Books by Toni Morrison will be discussed, including "Beloved".
Emergency Forms

Your Care Team is hoping to collect Emergency Contact forms from congregants. These forms tell us who to reach out to in case of emergency and what some of your wishes are around illness and death. Completed forms are confidential and only our minister will have access to the information. To fill out a form see one of our Care Team members at a table on the patio over the next few weeks. You can also click on the link below to download the form, which you can print and fill out or complete directly in the pdf.

Please send completed forms to Rev. Ian at minister@uucod.org or put in his mailbox or mail to the church office.

If you have trouble accessing the form, let us know and we will get one to you. If you need assistance filling it out, help is available for that too.
Any questions, contact Rev. Ian or Bryna Blum.

Food (and Clothing and More!) on the First is This Sunday!

Since Omicron has devastated our valley, Galilee Center’s need for food & clothing has become even greater. In addition to the usual, they are in need of baby food, diapers, & baby wipes.
Bring your donations to the church parking lot & put them in the open car trunk
with the Food on the First sign.
Can’t make it to church on Sunday?
Just bring them anytime the church is open & put them in the brown bin in the lobby.
Socks on the Second is Sunday, June 12th

Living unhoused in the Coachella Valley throughout this Covid pandemic has become even more challenging than at any other time in history. It’s not just that homeless people have nowhere to go, difficulty finding safe places to sleep or nourishing food to eat, it’s that fewer people are donating items they desperately need to survive.

Let’s not let socks be one of these items.

Please bring your socks to June 12 Sunday service or anytime the church is open & put them in the brown bin in the lobby. They will be delivered to Well in the Desert at one of their 5 lunchtime sites & given to anyone in need.

Thank you for your generosity.
Galilee Center is June's Share the Plate

Located in Mecca in the eastern Coachella Valley, Galilee Center serves many community needs, from food and household items to rental and utility assistance. They serve families, seniors and individuals. They also operate the Our Lady of Guadalupe overnight shelter, where they provide their guests with meals, showers and laundry service. Those served at the shelter range from migrant workers coming to our area in season to work the local crops to asylum seekers who are in transit to join their family members in the US.

On June 19, Father's Day, please give generously to help Galilee Center to serve the community of the east valley.
