It’s Thursday in the first week of June. Tim and I are in the car on the way to Los Angeles to see our son Ben sing! Needless to say, we are very proud and very excited. I will take pictures of the ocean for you!

The Church in a Changing World Task Force met on Tuesday, late afternoon, and there are some exciting things in the works. First, in reviewing all the statistics for our state and our county and how stable the numbers have been, the task force has concluded that we are now moving into stage five of our reopening plan, which means: all the chairs back in the sanctuary, no limit on numbers, and those who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear masks! | |

We continue to encourage masks and distancing for those who are not able or choose not to be vaccinated, including children. There will be a new “normal” for now:
- we will continue to receive communion using the individual kits,
- we ask that everyone sign in at the Welcome table so that we have everyone’s phone number in the event that we need to contact trace, and
- we will have our offering plate at the welcome table to avoid passing from hand to hand.
All this begins Sunday! If you are most comfortable still wearing a mask and distancing, that is okay as well. Please join us at 9:00 a.m. for the live-streamed traditional service or the 11:00 a.m. contemporary service as we go bravely into a new way of being church!

With this return to open worship, we are in dire need of worship leaders! Would you be willing to be a greeter, an usher, a liturgist or staff the welcome table? Do you help with the Interfaith Meal?
Would like to be part of the Fellowship Ministry that will be serving food during fellowship time in the future?
If you answered “yes” to either or both of those questions, you need to have a Food Handler’s Card! The certification is good for 2 years, and to make it easy for you, we are offering the class next week, on Wednesday, June 9 at 9:00 a.m. in our very own Fellowship Hall! Please contact Mary in the church office to sign up for the class, we need at least 10 people!

It is wonderful to have some things returning to normal, so beginning this Sunday, June 6, we will resume collection food items for the Prescott Valley Food Pantry at 8781 Spouse. Here are the items most needed:
- canned fruits
- canned vegetables
- tuna
- canned chicken
- pasta
- mac & cheese
- peanut butter
- boxed cereal
- rice
Cash donations are always appreciated so they can fill in with items such as fresh food, breads and meats. We so appreciate Rhonda Medina for being our liaison to the food bank and for picking up the bags of groceries and taking them to the pantry.

We are currently able to use the church for small meetings of up to 25 people with masks and social distancing. Groups like Bible studies, ministry teams and the quilters can meet in the Fellowship Hall or the Sanctuary. We ask that folks continue to wear masks unless the entire group is fully vaccinated; if all are vaccinated, the group may choose to remove their masks. | |
