Last month, between Zoom's changes with new features and increase security and service to a vastly increased number of users we were not able to get people into the webinar. Since then Zoom has corrected problem issues and everything now works as expected. So, we will pickup were we left off on June 4th. We will be looking at the reviews and critiques that experts have written in response to Dr. Petrovich's work. To be intellectually honest It is important to objectively consider such critique so we should not pass over this material. From this effort we will learn a lot! Petrovich Answers to Published Challenges
For a number of months GHCA has been studying the Biblical Archaeology of Dr. Doug Petrovich who achieved a breakthrough in
deciphering the first alphabetic language! It first appeared in ancient Egypt even though it had be recognized for more than a hundred years to be a Semitic language which one would expect to first appear east of the Mediterranean Sea, not south. It is not Egyptian although the alphabet was made up of 22 signs borrowed from the multitude of Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs. Petrovich has shown that this alphabetic language is in fact Hebrew.
The ability to decipher these inscriptions provided new information that leads to a new understanding of the Hebrews in Egypt, who they were, the names they were given, the roles they played and

the large effect they had. Importantly, it all fits very well with the related Biblical narrative surrounding Joseph, Jacob, and the growing clan of Hebrew people in the chronology of 1800s BC.
That period of clear fit is followed by a vague "Second Intermediary Period" in Egyptian history when large migrations from the Levant overran much of the Nile delta including the area where the Hebrews were growing numerous as well. Somewhat later invaders called Hyksos gradually took control of much of Egypt. One might wonder if the success and power of Joseph, Jacob, and their clan attracted the migrations and the resulting confusion

of the power structure presented a opportunity for the invading Hyksos.
As the 1500s BC approached the 18th Egyptian Dynasty regained control and in the process the Hebrews had become despised, feared, and enslaved. Several Hebrew inscriptions of this time allude to the increasing severity of servitude, suppression Hebrew population growth, and the astonishment brought by Moses. The Biblical date of the Exodus is 1446 BC. The Egyptian pharaohs did not publicize their defeats, failures, or disasters so it should be no surprise that their monuments do not mention the plagues or the Exodus. bring wayward vassals back under control and to bring back vast numbers of slaves. At home there was a campaign to destroy any memory of Queen, and later a Pharaoh, Hatshepsut. A 1446 BC Exodus would put her in position to be Moses' adoptive mother who saved his life and gave him a royal education. After the Exodus she would be despised. In papers found here and here Dr. Petrovich makes a strong case that the Pharaoh of the Exodus is Amenhotep II and the chronology of the abandonment of Avaris, the center of the Hebrew population.
The above picture is not what one will find in the large majority of what has been taught and written in the last century. The twentieth century was strongly dominated by the documentary (JDEP) hypothesis asserting that the Pentateuch was compiled from four different groups with different perspectives and time frames. origin only after the Babylonian Exile and their writing was in large part a mythology invented to support their cultural identity.
These "Biblical minimalist" are currently the norm for modern scholarship and teaching. In the twenty first
century there have been more highly qualified scholars
pointing to the weaknesses of the minimalist assertions and calling for more attention to discoveries in archaeology. In this environment the discoveries of Dr. Petrovich seem to have set a new foundation for Joseph, Jacob and the Hebrews in Biblical Archaeology in Egypt. The work flowing out of this foundation seems to point toward a coming paradigm shift as diligent work continues and progressively more questions are answered. It is highly recommended that all students of scripture and Christian leaders should invest time to become familiar with Dr. Petrovich's work.
The May 7th GHCA webinar will look at how Dr. Petrovich has responded to high level scholars who have taken the trouble to publish critiques of his work. We will see that he can respond well indeed and in the process we will learn about some important issues we have not seen dealt with before.

Examples of Important YEC Scientific Evidences
Some major examples of physical evidence we point to include:
- Remains of original soft tissue still found in dinosaur bones. Along with that tissue is C-14 that would decay completely away in less than a hundred thousand years, a tiny fraction of the dinosaur fossil's supposed age.
- For many years geologists have found C-14 in fossil carbon throughout the fossil record. So, the entire fossil record is less than 100,000 years old.
- The origin of the information and molecular machinery in the first living self-reproducing cell remains a complete enigma for biologist and biochemists.
- In the origin of the universe, big bang theory is being recognized as a dead end by increasing numbers of secular scientists. The hypothesized inflation has nothing to start it, drive it forward, or stop it. Without inflation fatal flaws appear with the absence of predicted antimatter, magnetic monopoles, or any means for the whole universe to come to the same precise background temperature. Then the formation of the first stars is as enigmatic as the origin of the first biological cell. Dark matter and dark energy are as enigmatic as the galactic motions they are needed to explain.
At the root of all standard science are many assumptions that may be quite incorrect. At the top is that there is no God. Another is that present process can be used to explain everything in the past. When we look at a canyon we are taught to assume the river at the bottom cut the canyon. But perhaps tectonic events made the canyon and there is a river at the bottom because water always flows downhill. At the root of big bang theory is a pure assumption that has been named the "Cosmological Principle". Perhaps inaccuracies there are responsible for the big bang's multitude of problems.
