OUR MISSION:
St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.
We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. TIEZZI

Dear St. Rita Parents,

On behalf of the St. Rita School community I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Kathy Halloran, one of our second grade teachers, who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. Halloran has devoted 30 years of teaching to generations of students here at St. Rita School.  We wish Kathy well as she begins this new adventure. In addition to Mrs. Halloran’s retirement,  our music teacher, Michael Pelligrino and our lower school Spanish teacher, Michael Petruzzi will not be returning to St. Rita next year. We wish them both well in their future endeavors.  Over the next few weeks I will be hiring teachers to replace those who are leaving.

Please join us this Friday at 8:45 for our final school Mass for the 2018-2019 school year. Our last day of school for the 2018-2019 school year will be on Monday, June 10. We will be celebrating with a Prayer Service in the gym at 11:30. All are invited to attend. Dismissal will be at 12:15.

·        Friday, June 7 is the last day for Aftercare. Beforecare will be open until the final day of school.

·        Report cards will be sent home with kindergarten students on Wednesday and with students in grades 1-5 this Friday. Middle School report cards will be mailed out on June 13.

·        IOWA test results will be sent home with students in grades 3-7 in their report card envelopes. I am very pleased with the results of the testing.    Any questions regarding your child’s test results can be directed to his/her teacher or to me.

·        Summer Work Packets -Students returning to SRS for the 2019-2020 school year will have summer work packets to complete. Work packets for students entering grades 1-8 will be posted on our school webpage under Helpful Info-Summer Learning by the end of next week .
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will be provided with hard copies.

·        Supply lists will be available on our school website home page once school is over.

·        Summer office hours will be Monday-Friday from 9:00-1:00.

·        SRS Summer Camp will begin on June 17. Applications are still being accepted. More details about the various themed weeks and registration information can be found on our webpage.

·        School will reopen for the 2019-2020 school year on Monday, August 26 with a soft opening visiting day. A Back to School Newsletter will be sent out the week of August 12. Class assignments will not be sent out until just before the start of school.

I am most grateful to the parents, students and teachers at St. Rita School for your continued support throughout the year. Thank you for entrusting your child to our care. Best wishes for a safe, relaxing and fun-filled summer vacation.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi

Join the NEW St. Rita School New Family Buddy Program!

Joining a new school can be a confusing and intimidating process—for both kids and parents! Help us make that process easier for new families by becoming a
New Family Buddy!

The role of the Buddy Program is to serve as a point of contact for a new family in your child’s class and be a person they can reach out to if necessary-- to answer questions, help them find information and connect the new students to a classmate. All it takes is a quick welcome email or phone call to make the new family feel at home in their new school.

There is no obligation to host the new family, although friendships are sure to be made! One fun Welcome Event will take place in August where you will get to meet your Buddy Family in person—you can take it from there!

We are looking for 2-3 families per grade. Sign up below if you'd like to welcome the newest members of the St. Rita Community.

Does Your Company Offer Volunteer Grants?
Volunteer grant programs, also known as “Dollars for Doers” programs, are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work.
Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.

Please take a moment and ask if your employer participates in a Volunteer Grants Program. Your time and talent at St. Rita School could turn into dollars for our school! Questions? Feel free to contact Joanne Bruno at  [email protected] .
