From The Pastor's Desk...

New Covid worship policies:
Given the wonderfully high rate of vaccinations in Tabernacle and surrounding towns, our congregation will return to a more normal worship pattern; however, we are still grounded in a Gospel of compassion that requires that we "go the extra mile" in caring for our neighbor's needs as much as our own. Thus:
---We can worship without masks, although masking is still encouraged to protect the youngest among us, for whom there is no vaccine, and to shelter the frail, who may have medical conditions that prevent them from being vaccinated.  Some people have medical struggles that keep them from wearing masks; others need the social freedom to share their whole face.  The key here is to be non-judgmental of one another, and for mercy to be our guiding principle.
---When singing, however, masks should be worn, at least during the early weeks when we are growing into this new sense of freedom.
---The pastor can lead worship unmasked except for presiding at and serving communion.  It is preferred for only masked and/or vaccinated people to serve communion, as they come into contact with most worshippers including children.  The pastor may choose to wear a mask when greeting large numbers of people or she has knowledge of other reasons to wear a mask.
--- Social distancing will not be required; however, seating areas will be kept near the sacristy for those who prefer to be socially distanced, and these areas will be marked with ropes.  Should this space fill, ushers will seek to find another area to rope off, even if that means asking already seated worshippers to relocate.  In this way, we will live out the Gospel and our Christian hospitality.
---When possible, sanctuary doors and windows will be open; however on hot days we may need to find alternate ways to circulate the air.  The congregation will continue to investigate how to do this.
In the midst of pandemic-fatigue and strong emotions, especially that desire for normalcy, God has given us very clear commands and an example of sacrificial love.  Wearing masks (and other pandemic safeguards) has been a sacrifice, and yet as the Church we seek to change and save lives; we may never know what good results our sacrifices have had, but God sees.  May our actions give glory to God and show love for every neighbor.
Peace,
Pastor Wendolyn

Audio-Visual Projectionist
Training Sessions,
Sundays, June 6th & 13th
(Following The 10:00 AM Service)

We are looking for people that might have an interest
in helping with the audio-visual presentation of the worship service.  All anyone would need, is to have a basic understanding of how a Windows computer works.
The person will be taught how to project hymns and
words during the church service and how to adjust sound quality.  Written instructions are already available!
Once these objectives are mastered, the person will learn to create a video of the service which can be available on the internet.
Think about it!  You can be just like a TV director or producer!
If you are that person, please plan to attend one of the training sessions after the 10:00 AM worship service on Sunday June 6th or Sunday June 13th.

 Quilters Meeting
And An
Invitation To All
Thursday, June 17th At 10:00 AM
In Fellowship Hall
(A Message From Quilting Ministry Leader,
Gloria Brosious)

The Quilters will be meeting on Thursday, June 17th, at 10:00 AM in Fellowship Hall.  We are anxious to expand our group!  Our bins of fabric are, once again, full of beautiful quilting material.  This is an invitation to all to visit us on that date.  We have members of our group who cut squares - others put the squares together and others who will finish these quilts.  There are a few of us who do all three, but that isn't necessary - we appreciate any input that a person can contribute.
We have had some large yardage of fabric that can be used for backings.  The fabric needs to be cut down to size and it will require someone to sew the two pieces together.  On the 17th we will have tables set up with sewing machines to sew the backings.  We invite you to come out and join the group.
Another project that we have been given is to sew or crochet knitted squares together.  We are looking for help in deciding what to do with these squares and the best way to tackle this project.  There are 4 large kitchen trash bags filled with squares.  That will be a project on the 17th as well.
We will meet at 10:00 AM, but we invite you to bring a sandwich and stay for lunch and a discussion. We have been sewing quilts since 2013 and produced 650 quilts which have been distributed all over the world.  If you have an interest in our Ministry we hope you will join us in June.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call me (609-859-5505) or send me an email.  A link to my email is provided below.

 Appalachia Service Project
(A Message From Penny Miller)

Appalachia Service Project is a volunteer organization based in Virginia. They also have offices in North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Their moto is to make homes warmer, drier and safer. Their selfless work is completed by volunteers from visiting churches.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to join Hope Lutheran Church from Iowa, for a week-long adult mission trip. Our tasks included a remodel of a bathroom, replacing sheet rock, hanging vinyl siding, and interior painting. While working in the home, we had the privilege of getting to know the family and their struggles. We had lunch with them each day, played with their children, worked side by side with them really getting to know them. It was a very rich and rewarding week.
Last year all trips were cancelled due to Covid. Recently, I received an email asking if there was some interest in putting a group together to volunteer in October. We could join the members of Hope Lutheran. The work week would be Sunday through Thursday (Which week is to be determined.).
If you are interested in this adventure, or have any questions, please contact me by phone (609-726-1698) or email (driven2sew@hotmail.com).

Donors who are not fully vaccinated are still required to wear a face mask. The Red Cross will adhere to more stringent face mask requirements per state and/or local guidance or at the request of our blood drive sponsors.)

 LOL Mower Volunteers Needed!

The weather is warmer, the birds are singing, and the grass is growing.  That means we will need to have our mowing brigade back at work!  Once we have a list of volunteers, we will train all on the proper operation of the lawn  tractor and create a mowing schedule.
If you are able to help out, please contact our grounds supervisor, Keith Lerner.  A link to his email is provided below.

Sign-Up Sheet:
For anyone who is trained to use the mower, you can schedule a time when you would be able to cut the lawn.  A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board to the left of church office entrance doorway.

A Note On YouTube Ads:
It is getting more difficult to find musical and other selections from YouTube that are free from advertisements.  We try our best to include in the LifeLines those that do not contain them, but sometimes it is impossible.  In no way do the Editors or Lord Of Life endorse any advertisement that YouTube adds to a posting.  We cannot control what YouTube does and hope that you will be understanding of this.

LifeLines Ending Hymn:
This is a tune that, for many, is number one on their favorite list.  It is a variation of the original, traditional version.  Our choir has sung it as an anthem.  Let me quit while I'm ahead!  Enjoy!
