From the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization | June 5, 2020
A Note from MPO Executive Director Anna Gremling
After much work and collective planning, the MPO has recently become a stand-alone agency. This administrative change for our organization will allow us to even better serve the cities, towns, and counties of Central Indiana. This new structure requires a change to the name of our leadership board from the “Indianapolis Regional Transportation Council” to the "MPO Transportation Policy Committee".

We will be sharing more information about this transition soon, and we are excited for this new chapter in our organization’s history!

Researchers Predict Changes in Transportation Behavior
The University of Illinois-Chicago, Ohio DOT, and TRB teamed up to conduct a survey on the national level in the coming months. View the slides or the recording to see why the researchers expect the addition of a workability index when searching for a home or apartment, the reduction of transit ridership projections in Long-Range Transportation Plans, a shift in personal miles traveled as a result of a permanent increase in online shopping patterns for groceries/restaurants, and why ‘bikes are the new toilet paper'.
