From The Vice Pastor:
The Processed Words Of Pastor Stoner:
The New Testament book, "Acts Of The Apostles" recounts the changes the religious community went through after the
death and resurrection of Jesus. The new church had to do ministry in all new ways. In the fourth chapter, the church
gathered together and prayed for boldness during those trying "changing" times. Read these words as if they are speaking
to us a-new today:
"And now, Lord, look at (the threats), and grant to your servants to speak your word with all
boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the
name of your holy servant Jesus. When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered
together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with
boldness." (Acts 4: 29-31)
We too ask the Lord to look at the threats around us and ask that we, (God's servants) speak God's Word with boldness...

Hello Lord of Life,
My name is Dave Stoner, and you probably know that I am your Vice-Pastor, for a short time, while the call committee
completes the process of helping you find your next pastor. As you can imagine this is not going to be church (nor vice-
pastoring) as usual. The threat - Covid-19 virus - has forced us to change how we do everything.
But "do" is the
operative word. We are still doing church. The building is closed to the public, but the church (the Body of Christ) is still
ministering to the community we serve.
I am calling upon you to join in the
ministry we still do:
We still worship together every Sunday at 11:00 AM on YouTube and Facebook Live!
We still study the Bible every Wednesday at 10:00 AM & 7:00 PM through Zoom Video.
We still find ways to educate our children with Confirmation, Youth Ministry and VBS.
We still support Bridge Of Peace in Camden & The Christian Caring Center in Browns Mills.
We still care for our building and perform the maintenance that is still needed to be done.
We still find ways to support each other with phone calls, prayers, cards, and social media.
We still care for our families, our neighbors, our community and the world around us.
W
e still give generously to God's work of our time, talents, and money.
We still plan for the future and hope for the "New Normal" when we can do all this side by side.
We are still the church - the Body of our Lord - that will never change.
+++
Friends in Christ, I and your fabulous staff and administration, are here to help any way we can. I will help with Pastoral
care, worship, Bible study, and support the administration of Lord of Life. The staff has agreed to help with all the gifts and
skills God has given them.
We are asking you to join us, with boldness, as we proclaim God's Word in words and deeds.
We worship every Sunday at 11:00 AM together on YouTube and Facebook Live - JOIN US!
We do Bible Study every Wednesday at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Zoom - JOIN US!
I know that some of you do not have Facebook account, a
nd some of you do not have a smart phone, tablet or computer. Perhaps you can team up with someone you know to help connect with us. Those of you that have technology, please, reach out to your brothers and sisters in Christ who don't and help them find a way to connect.
I am still the Pastor at Temple Lutheran Church in Pennsauken, and yes I'm busy. But I will do all I can to support you and
your Pastoral concerns and cares. I look forward to our time together.
PEACE!

Trinity Sunday
June 7, 2020
Trinity Sunday is a day that celebrates and honors the Holy Trinity. We commemorate and celebrate God who is three in one: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Trinity Sunday falls on the Sunday after
Pentecost Sunday
. At the many festivals during winter and spring we celebrate events that are related to God the Creator, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit.
On Trinity Sunday we celebrate not an event but a reality: God three in one, a unity. The season that follows (ELCA Pentecost) is called the everyday life of the Church (Ordinary Time). It contains approximately 25 Sundays.
The
liturgical color
of the Pentecost season is green. Green symbolizes hope and growth. Christ The King Sunday concludes the season. It is the Sunday before the beginning of Advent.
(The above information was taken from the website of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denmark.)
Here is a link to a Trinity Hymn from our Lutheran Book of Worship. There are words so you can join in singing:
In the link below, Pastor Zachariah Shipman (ELCA Northwest United Lutheran Parish, Cosby, ND) provides a discussion of the hymn and plays his guitar while he sings the hymn.

As advised on earlier this month, Bishop Bartholomew has forwarded the name of another candidate for
consideration by the Call Committee. Each Committee member is currently reviewing the candidate's
Rostered Minister Profile in tandem with Lord of Life's Ministry Site Profile, independently. We then plan
to meet collectively to discuss our respective reviews and collaboratively prepare for an initial interview.
The process has no specific or mandated benchmarks with regard to completion of the various
requirements of our task. Simply put, the process is driven by discussion among the Committee
members and with the candidate. This requires scheduling considerations, ongoing review and
examination of information presented to the Committee as the candidate is vetted in several areas of
pastoral responsibility and experience, interviews with the candidate, reference checks, intra-Committee
discussion, as well as time for prayerful contemplation by both the Committee and the candidate.
This is
a two-way street, remember, and the candidate is also reviewing and gathering information about Lord
of Life during this process in order to make a personal determination as to Lord of Life's suitability for a
permanent pastoral call for him/her.
Thus, the call process may not move at breakneck speed nor that which many would prefer. Rather, it
needs to proceed at its own course with the dedication, diligence, and hopeful anticipation of both the
Call Committee and the candidate as well. As always, we appreciate your prayers for God's providence
and guidance in our endeavor.
(Submitted by Beth Blair, Call Committee Chair)

Update:
Revised Vacation Bible School Plans:
A Message from Breanne Tomlinson, VBS Director
The Church Council has approved holding a modified version of VBS this summer with tentative dates of July 28th through July 30th. It will be on a 2 hour schedule, servicing limited capacity unless we hear otherwise. This event will be open to church members and Grace Place families first, just in case we can't have large community gatherings. More information will be forthcoming as planning continues.
We are looking for some volunteers to help run activities, so anyone interested should contact me by email. A link to my email is below. Thanks!

PEP stands for People Enjoying People. In 1991, before our church building was constructed, it was started by Pastor Bob Peterson and his wife Kay. The purpose of the group was to draw senior LOL members together for a time of fellowship and growing together in Christ's love. Initially, the group met in people's homes and often took day trips to places like Toms River and Pennsylvania Dutch country. The name of the group was suggested by Alice Wilfred. The church of a good friend of hers used that name for their group, and she thought it would be a good one for ours as well. In addition to the Petersons and Alice and Fred Wilfred, some other charter members were Fred Weichert, Priscilla and Walter Faucett, Virginia Frank, and Ralph and Virginia Salvesen. Ella and Edmund Doel joined a few years later.
PEP has evolved over the years. It originally was a monthly meeting with a speaker, theme, or outing plus desserts for refreshments. Realizing that many folks were eating meals alone and that everyone loves to eat, we moved to a program and full meal experience that was open to
EVERYONE. This happened around 2006 when our Adult/Senior Ministry was created.
PEP is usually held the 3rd Thursday each month, from noon to about 2 PM. The program and meal center on a theme. For example, past programs included a Car Cruise, Summer in January, and a Baby Shower. Speakers included pastors, writers, friends, members, and representatives from various community programs. Each December, the Christmas program revolves around music. In November, we make gift tags for the Giving Tree. There is always something new happening. We can hardly wait to begin again.
The PEP Ministry is led by Janell Reich. Please email Janell if you would like more information about the group and its activities. Once the restrictions that are now in place are lifted, there will be a fun-filled PEP experience in store for all!
(Thank you Fred Wilfred and son Tom for providing some of the information in this article.)

Collection for the Christian Caring Center
The collection at the entrance way to the FDC/Grace Place of our church building is continuing.
Look for the blue container and carefully place the items into it.
A delivery of the donations took place on April 29th that would have completely filled two large shopping carts, and a second delivery, the size of a grocery cart filled with goods, took place on May 20th. As always, your gifts were sincerely appreciated and welcomed. Thank you so much! Thank you for your support!
You can also help the Christian Caring Center by donating through their website or mailing a check to them. The link for donating and their address are below.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Tellers Needed!
Lord of Life is in need of Tellers. Typically a teller works in a team of 3-4 people and teams rotate so that each team does one weekend a month.
No experience is necessary, and training will be provided.
For more information or to join the team, please contact
Carol Ebersberger, Lord of Life Church Financial Secretary, by emailing her. A link to her email is below.

Notice:
Deletion Of Text Giving Option
The donation option by text message is no longer available.
All other means of continuing with your contributions remain. Your envelopes can be mailed to the church (1 Winchester Court, Tabernacle, NJ 08088) and Simply Giving remains in place.
Offerings can also be made via a secure website and cell phone app. More information about these ways to contribute can be found on the church's website. The link is below.
Despite our building being closed, the work of the church is going on. Our Vice Pastor and the staff are actively engaged, and the need to pay bills and the mortgage continue. Prayerfully consider continuing with your regular contributions.

From Our Worship And Music Director,
Rick Krause:
In the past few months, the Association Of Lutheran Church Musicians compiled individual recordings of 960 vocalists and 364 instrumentalists, from North America and globally, singing and playing the same anthem, "O Day Full Of Grace." The individual recordings were merged into one, and the completed piece was placed on YouTube to be shared among everyone. The link below will take you to this magnificent undertaking. I hope you enjoy it!
