I am so very blessed to be your pastor.

Worship at home. Save lives.
Love God. Love your neighbor
Beginning June 6th and continuing throughout the summer, Martin UMC will be offering one time opportunities via Zoom or Facebook Live to connect with one another, learn something new and have a bit of fun doing it! Santa George kicks things off for us at 5pm on June 6th. Be sure to check this new ZOOM INTO SUMMER section of the newsletter each week to stay in the know about Who and What is coming up and When!
Santa George shares the inside scoop on how to make the gourmet pizzas he is known for posting photos of that tease the tastebuds. He will teach us how to make the dough, share alternatives if yeast is hard to locate, and walk us through both family-friendly and gourmet topping options. You can just watch and learn for later, or join in the fun of real-time food prep with Santa George and friends. The link below give you all you need to know about ingredients for the various options. See you this evening in Santa's kitchen! We are going to have fun!
Martin UMC has been a dedicated supporter of Project Transformation Central Texas for the 4 years it has existed in the HEB area. The support comes from the people who represent qualities that exemplify the United Methodist faith: prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. The following represents the challenges that this program tackles during the summer break.

THE THREE C’S
3 PROBLEMS. 1 SOLUTION.
Based on a model founded in 1998 in Dallas, Texas, Project Transformation Central Texas launched in 2017 to address three unique challenges with one program: 1) how to meet the academic, physical, social-emotional, and spiritual needs of children from low-income communities, 2) how to provide meaningful ways for college-age young adults to explore ministry opportunities and develop as young principled leaders for the church and the world; and 3) how to help revitalize churches in underserved communities.
Children – College students – Churches. This is a win-win-win formula where relationships are at the heart of everything we do. It is through relationships that lives and communities are transformed.

This year Project Transformation has had to adapt to the pandemic just as our worship and lives have done. Previously our church provided volunteers to interact and read to these children along with funding for supplies. This year Martin UMC has been asked to assist with funding for school and food supplies plus written notes of encouragement. The school supplies are basic needs: pencils, markers, crayons, glue, notebook paper, construction paper, colored pencils, pencil sharpener, etc. The weekend meal bag consists of ingredients for a family unit such as: canned chicken, egg noodles, alfredo sauce, green beans, carrots, soup/stew, oatmeal, applesauce, dried fruit/raisins, instant potatoes, peanut butter, crackers. If you would like to pen a note of encouragement please advise Doug or Faiana and we will get you the information.

I am asking our church family to support this program by purchasing supplies for about 60 children. The cost is approximately $25 per child. I want to minimize everyone's risk, so the best way to support this program is to contribute $25, or more if you wish, to Martin United Methodist church designated for Project Transformation or PT, via check or online donation. A group of us will purchase the necessary items, assemble and deliver them to the children/families. We are scheduled to provide the assembled items the week of July 6. We would love to have your donations by June 28.Perhaps your Sunday School class would like to make a donation.Any questions, please contact Doug or Faiana.

Thank you again for all you do for our community!
