Greetings!. This week, I have selected these keywords from our Gospel to reflect on.

Corpus Christi (A)

“The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” (John 6:51)

The gift of the Eucharist is not a private treasure meant only for the disciples of the past, or even just for those of us gathered in the pews today. This Living Bread from heaven is meant for “the life of the world.” Because we are nourished at the table of the Lord, we cannot keep this grace to ourselves. Its mission doesn't end at the church doors - we are fed so that we can feed others. Let us refuse to hide this great treasure away. As a Eucharistic people, Christ calls us to take His presence out into our broken world, bringing His blessing, healing, and revival to everyone we meet.

Come join the Blessed Virgin Mary Church Team by participating in the 2026 Walk for Hospice on the beautiful Siena College campus on the morning of June 13. Our goal is to raise $1,000 for Hospice!

How to join our team:

Fifth Friday WAS FUN!

Great cooks and great company made for a fun evening! Thank you to all who attended last Friday night. Our next Fifth Friday falls on July 31st!

Maddie is Graduating!

Dear BVMC Family,

We can't believe that Maddie is graduating from high school! They say it takes a village to raise a child; in our case, it has taken a church. Maddie would not be the young woman she has become without the constant love, support, and guidance she has received from our BVMC family. We would love to invite you to stop by the church for her graduation party to congratulate her on her accomplishments and wish her well as she goes off to college! Our Champions Continue On!

Maddie and Emme and their Shaker High flag football team went on to win the Regional Championships last weekend. Now they are off to compete for State Championship in Homer, New York! Good luck this weekend, Maddie and Emme - Go, Blue Bisons!

YMS^ofR Men’s Retreat

“Broken Chains - For God and Country”

At The Bishop Hodur Retreat and Recreation Center, Waymart, PA

June 17th - June20th

The venue is as much a part of the retreat as the speaker sessions and the Holy Mass. Feel your stress fade away as you take in the beautiful rolling Pennsylvania mountains and breathtaking sunsets. The retreat center also offers a swimming pool, hiking trails, a grand commons area, a newly renovated Great Hall, Volleyball and Baseball fields, a secluded pond stocked with large bass for fishing, and Wi-Fi, along with many other amenities.

All men of the parish are invited to attend.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

At the 2026 Annual Meeting, the congregation approved a Capital Campaign
drive to raise funds for the replacement of the 27-year old heating and cooling system.

In May, our total increased by $1,101. Progress toward our $50,000 goal will be updated monthly.

YOUR DONATIONS MATTER!

The groceries you place in the baskets in our vestibule become a real blessing for families in need here in our community. Each week, the Food Pantry at Christ Our Light Parish serves between 80 and 110 people — and our donations help make that possible.

Donations of non-perishable food items are always welcome. Please note that glass containers and expired food cannot be accepted.

Monetary donations are also appreciated. Financial gifts allow the pantry staff to purchase food in bulk at reduced prices, so those donations go even further in feeding those in need. Checks may be made payable to Christ Our Light Food Pantry and can be placed in the collection basket.
