From The Desk of Mr. Johnston
Dear St. Alphonsus Families,

Wow! What a year it has been! Our students have done so much this year: going on field trips, making progress in the classroom, participating in school activities and so much more. It has been a joy for me to lead St. Alphonsus Catholic School this year. As I have come to know your students and this community more and more, I have realized that this place is so special.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me along this year. From the teachers to the parents, the school staff, the parish and everyone else. I could not have done it without all of you and I am grateful for all of your support. You are St. Alphonsus Catholic School!

At this time, I do have a few pieces of summer information for you. First, just a reminder that the school office will operate morning hours, only through June 30, at which time the office will close for the summer. We will re-open mid-August to prep for a new school year.

Second, don't forget that tonight is Dine Out Night at Cousins' Subs, and we have two additional Dine Out Nights this summer! The info on those is outlined below. Save your receipts, as we will announce Out-Of-Uniform Days for Summer Dine Out Nights this fall.

With that, I'd like to wish you all a wonderful, safe, and happy summer!

End of the Year Highlights
This morning, we had a beautiful blessing and ceremony for Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Halwas, Profe Wallace, and Mrs. Gorgas to send them on their way as they depart St. Alphonsus for their next chapter in life. We will miss them all so deeply and wish them nothing but the best.

In addition, we have had so many activities to round out the year! Please check out these photos of many of the things that have happened in the last few weeks, including the 5th Grade Red Shirt Ceremony, Book Tasting, Recorders (Black Belts pictured in front rows), Doll Baptism, and Middle School Bowling field trip. Be sure to follow us on social media this summer as we share more fun from throughout this school year! You can find us on Facebook here and Instagram here.

It has been a great year, St. Alphonsus!
Happy Summer and see you in the fall!

Calling All FUN RUN Sponsors!

Our only fall fundraiser—the Fun Run—will be back next September! In order to make this Fun Run the best one yet, we need your help getting T-shirt sponsors this summer.

There are four levels of sponsorship: $100, $250, $500 and $750. All sponsors receive their logo on the official Fun Run T-shirt and recognition in the weekly school newsletter throughout the fall.

Sponsors can be the company you or a family member works for, or a local business that you frequent. Not sure about making the ask yourself? Send us your ideas and we’ll do the legwork!

Please contact Olivia Hartley with your sponsorship donations and ideas, and thank you in advance for your support!
New Family Mentors Needed
The New Family Committee is looking for volunteer mentor families!

Help us welcome new families to St. Alphonsus. This is a very low-key commitment and a great way to get your whole family involved at school. We ask mentor families to exchange contact information with new families so they can have someone to contact with questions, and all mentor & new families attend a social event to welcome them to the school in the fall. Your relationship with your mentor family can be as involved as you want it to be!

If interested, please contact Amy Schermetzler.

Church Decorating: Volunteers Needed!
Where do the floral arrangements, banners, lighting and decor that brightens up our holy space of worship come from and how are they designed, created and put in just the right spot?

Under Terry Piontkowski's leadership, it is a well-oiled, orchestrated phenomenon!

Many hands make light work, and unfortunately we are short-handed in
June of taking down Easter decorations.

Can you spare a couple of
hours? Sign up here for one or both June dates to be a part of the great
transformation!

For questions, please contact Terry.
Due to the great response in May, we are repeating this session so more people can join in!

A session will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Community Room.

Please register to assist with seating at 414-421-2442; a minimum of 10 people will be needed to hold this session. You can also sign up at this link.
Wills, Trusts, & Power of Attorney Event Back by Popular Demand!
Wills, Trusts and Power of Attorney:
Ensuring a Legacy of Love for your Family

More than 50 percent of Americans do not have a Will. A Will is a vital piece of your estate plan as it allows you to control how your loved ones, including minor children, are provided for after your death. There are other elements of an estate plan, such as Trusts, Life Insurance, etc. You are never too young to have an estate plan in place. But, how do you do that? What options are available to you?

Join Stephanie Mares, parish member and attorney, as she explains Wills, Trusts and other important strategies and documents such as Power of Attorney and Power of Health Care. Stephanie will also answer questions and provide practical advice. Please join us for what is sure to be an engaging and informative program that you won’t want to miss.
Do you have items for the newsletter? To submit them or for questions and submission guidelines, please contact Amy Schermetzler.
Please note that submissions are due by 5:00pm Wednesdays.
