The 4th of July
For many decades, the Greater Grass Valley and Nevada City Chambers and the Grass Valley Downtown Association have partnered to produce the annual 4th of July Celebration. The Parade alternates on odd-numbered years in Grass Valley and even-numbered years in Nevada City, a tradition that's been in place since the early 1900s.

COVID forced us to reimagine and reinvent the traditional format, and while we're edging closer to "normalcy" we're not quite there yet. BUT the good news is, we're celebrating in both towns!

Nevada City*New this Year – hosted by the Nevada City Chamber: Parade Street Fair from 10 am-1:30 pm featuring the Parade, Music, Food, Craft, and Retail Vendors, and will be held on North Pine Street.

Grass Valley ─ *New this Year ─ hosted by the Greater Grass Valley Chamber and Grass Valley Downtown Association: a Whoop-it-Up, Dancing in the Streets Evening Festival on Mill Street from 5:00 - 9:00 pm! Line dance or rock to the music of two Smokin' Hot Bands, enjoy Ice Cold Beer, wine, refreshing beverages, and plenty of Food, Fun, and Festivities!

The 4th of July revelry begins early, continues throughout the day, and into the night culminating with the Fireworks Spectacular hosted by the City of Grass Valley at the Dorsey Interchange at 9:30 pm.

It promises to be a true Star-Spangled Celebration!
