The upcoming June 9 election combines two elections that were originally scheduled for dates earlier this year -- the Presidential Preference Primary scheduled for March 24 and General Primary / Nonpartisan General / Special Election originally scheduled for May 19.

Voters can cast their ballots through absentee ballot by mail, early voting, or on Election Day.

Q: How can I request an absentee ballot?
Absentee ballot applications were mailed by the Secretary of State to all Georgia voters. If you did not receive an absentee ballot application, you may download one here. Carefully complete your Absentee Ballot application, then return it by fax, by mail or email.

Q: When is the deadline to request an absentee ballot?
A: By law, the last day to request an absentee ballot for the June 9 election is Friday, June 5.  However, residents are encouraged to request their absentee ballot as soon as possible to ensure that it arrives back to the Department of Registration and Elections offices by the closing of the polls on Election Day.
Q: How do I return by absentee ballot?
A: Voters can return their ballot by mail. Fulton County is also in the process of installing 20 ballot drop-boxes to allow voters to drop off absentee ballots for the June 9 Election. You can view all ballot box locations using our online tool .

Q: If I voted during early voting for the March Presidential Preference Primary, can I still request an absentee ballot?
A: Yes. If you already voted in the Presidential Preference Primary, you can still request an absentee ballot. Your ballot will only include races for the General Primary election & Nonpartisan Special Election. If you already voted in the Presidential Preference Primary, you will NOT see that election on your ballot.
Early Voting Happening Now
Early voting is taking place at five locations until June 5, 2020.

In response to high turnout, early voting hours have been extended . Polls will now be open Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 30 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Polls will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020.

Early Voting Reminders
  • Expect long lines.
  • Voters age 75 and older and voters with disabilities do not have to wait in line from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Request assistance from a poll worker.
  • Voters who requested an absentee ballot and now choose to vote at the polls will have a longer process as they must complete an affidavit before voting.
  • The ballot for this election is lengthy. Voters may view their ballot online in advance at the Georgia My Voter Page

Adjustments Made at Early Voting Locations to Help Reduce Wait Times
After long lines on the first day of Early Voting, the Department of Registration & Elections made several adjustments to help reduce wait times. These include expanded hours, moving to larger rooms, and adding equipment. Learn more here.
Keeping You Healthy & Safe
Fulton County is committed to your health & safety. Several measures are in place to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

  • Providing Personal Protective Equipment for all poll workers, and requiring that they wear this equipment throughout their shift.
  • Voters are asked to wear a face covering to protect yourself and others.
  • Voters will be provided a stylus for voting purposes. This will be sanitized after each voter.
  • Social distancing will be enforced, requiring voters to stand at least 6 feet apart.
  • The number of voters inside the poll at a given time will be limited to maintain social distancing.

Fulton County voters who choose to vote on Election Day may see changes to their polling place. Locations have changed for more than 40 Election Day polling places for June 9. Check ahead to see if your poll location has changed.
