Thank You from Frances Romack & Family
Prairie Avenue Family,
Thank you all for the wonderful shower of birthday cards and wishes for Mom's 100th! She opened and read each one on her birthday and we have them all on display in the Living room (clothes pinned to lines strung for the occasion). She misses being at church but does tune in each week on the computer (though I haven't actually "logged" her in).
Thank you, too for the pictures, notes, and church sign video on Facebook. Mom had (and has) a great love for all of the Sunday School kids that passed through her classes. I think that, besides the flannel graph, the magnetic board, the songs, crafts, sandbox, rocks and shells, etc. made many fond memories. She was also a choir mother for many years, fitting countless robes with a yardstick in hand. And her face launched a thousand candle-lighters back in the day. She isn't quite up to writing her own thank-yous which is why I've taken the opportunity to crow a bit. Not just Mom, but the whole family appreciates the outpouring of love and concern in recent months. It was very nice that Jason, Amanda, and Patrick were able to join us at the family reunion where we celebrated Mom's centennial. We were sorry not to be able to extend the invitation to all, but we didn't want to totally overwhelm her. Thank you!

Give Regularly through five acts of generosity each month
| |
Giving regularly not only supports the work of the church,
but also is your way of giving God priority in your life.
What we love is where we will spend first.
When we are able to give, it always deepens our faith
in loving and serving God.

Thank You for your generosity!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY IN SUPPORTING NEW CHURCH MINISTRY: Nearly $200 was raised to assist the development of leadership and new congregations for our region. You can still give to the special day offering through the link below. | |
Does Your Bank/Financial Institution
Provide Bill Pay Services?
If so, you can make sure your tithe/gift/offering arrives whether you are able to attend or not! Often when someone is absent, their offering is also. Or you left it on the table while coming to church! You can set up Prairie Avenue Christian Church as a "bill" (we are not, of course) and schedule timely checks to be mailed at no cost to our address. Many members have taken advantage of our online giving portal, but it also charges fees each time! Avoid the service charges and fees by setting us up as a regular payment through your bank/financial institution. Without fail, your support will arrive. Set your "payment" plan today.

Share Your Faith by inviting 5 people to church this year

The God you worship is always revealed through your words and actions. Awkward conversations (i.e. "Are you saved?") are not necessary when your words and actions reveal the God you seek to learn, love, and serve.

Imagine With Me:
Communications for Phygital Church
In this episode of Imagine with Me, Rev. Terri Hord Owens speaks with Rev. Cara Gilger, Director of Communications for the Office of General Minister and President, and Angee Jordan Byrd, Regional Director of the Communications Ministry for the Christian Church in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan on how thoughtful communications supports the ministry of the church in this hybrid age of physical and digital ministry.
“What I like to say in regards to digital hospitality is the hospitality that we have in our physical churches, should be mirrored in the digital space. When we have visitors that are coming to our physical churches we want them to feel welcomed. We want to acknowledge them. So yes, I have been sharing with churches that it is important to have someone online.” -Angee Jordan Byrd, Director of the Communications Ministry for the Christian Church in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
