HSC Clients Grateful for Move-in Kits
When clients arrive at the Brian Garcia Welcome Center, their needs are assessed, and a customized Housing Plan is prepared to address the unique barriers to ending each person's homelessness. These needs are met by HSC and partner programs, whether for one or multiple issues. As clients go through the process of addressing their specific barriers, HSC's Behavioral Health and Housing Navigators work to locate the most appropriate housing intervention for them. Once housing is located, many clients need "the basics" when moving into their new home. This includes a bed and bedding, small kitchen appliances and utensils, a small TV and other items. With the help of financial donations and sourcing for discounted items, the HSC Navigation Staff has put together new "Move-in Kits" to address these basic needs.
"Our clients are so grateful to be provided with a place to call their own and the essentials for living in that home," said Stacey White, HSC Coordinated Entry Systems Navigator. "And our staff is so grateful for the donations that make this program possible!"

COVID-19 Update
While we are not totally out of the woods yet, in partnership with Maricopa County Public Health we are safely making changes on the Campus to allow more people indoors during the day and in shelter over night! Testing and vaccinations continue to be available. And we are gradually inviting people back to volunteer and tour. Please visit our website to check out volunteer opportunities with HSC and partners. If you have never visited the Campus and want to take a masked tour, please email Steve Davis at sdavis@hsc-az.org for your personal appointment.

We are forever grateful for the community’s response to help us make the Campus a safe and healthy place for all. The last year most certainly had its challenges, and we are looking forward to evolving through this next phase of the pandemic response.
