Iowa Governor Vetoes Medical Marijuana Expansion Bill
AC4C supported the education of  the recommendations by the legislative supported CBD Board comprised of physicians and health care providers.  It appeared as if their recommendations were going to be ignored, but Governor Reynolds decided to slow down the expansion of the CBD bill by exercising her right to veto.  While this limits who can access the benefits, it also does not allow the 25-gram limit which would have allowed a person to consume THC levels "higher than one would typically consume even with aggressive recreational marijuana use."

Read more about it in the May 24th Des Moines Register article below:

On May 16th, students and teachers at MFL MarMac High School shared personal stories they hope will give other teens, parents and public a better understanding of high-risk activities young people encounter in Iowa today.

Tune in for a better understanding of marijuana and vaping trends.

Check out what they have to say here...

RAGBRAI brings about a large consumption of alcohol across Iowa during the week of July 21st.  AC4C Alcohol Action Team led by board member Kris Rankin is coordinating the effort to provide volunteer alcohol server training along the route.  Currently these counties have trainings scheduled:  Appanoose, Davis, Van Buren, Des Moines and Lee counties.  If you are in one of the other communities we encourage you to send Kris an email.    T he Iowa ABD  provides support to volunteers.  They recently launched the Age to Purchase App which allows users to scan driver's licenses with their smartphone. No personal information of the customer is stored on the device. The built-in scanning function uses the camera feature on the device to scan the barcode on the driver's license to quickly help determine age and validity.   To download the app go to  this link or to find out more about the training Iowa ABD is providing specifically for RAGBRAI - check it out here
