Commencement 2017

May 13 marked the University's 82nd Commencement and was held in front of McDonough Hall with separate ceremonies for the 263 undergraduates and 875 graduate students who were eligible for degrees. Honorary degrees were presented to three deserving individuals who had wonderful messages to share with the graduates. We honored Professor Dorothy Keller for her 50 years of outstanding service to USJ as a faculty member, advisor and artist. The second honorary degree awarded to Joyce James, LMSW-AP, a nationally recognized expert on improving foster care systems and an influential voice on institutional racism. And an honorary doctorate was awarded to U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd, recognizing his legislative leadership and his contributions in the field of intellectual property rights.
