the excitement, pomp and circumstance shared by all on such a momentous occasion. The Class was treated to breakfast in Bruyette Athenaeum where they robed for the occasion, assisted by President Rhona Free. After the ceremony the class enjoyed reconnecting over a lovely luncheon with members of the Board of Trustees, the University's Senior Management Team, University faculty, and staff.

Faculty, Administration, and Staff welcomed nearly 400 guests Friday evening, June 8 at the Connecticut Convention Center, Hartford Conn. for the annual Imagine...The Sky's the Limit Gala. Three women were celebrated who embody the characteristics of insightful leadership and service to others through their work in the STEM fields. Karyn Cahill '83, Ph.D., Pamela Clark '73, DAA'85, Ph.D., and Manon Cox H'14, Ph.D., MBA have committed themselves to improving the lives of others, through their research and vision.

Admission Enrollment Numbers are up!
The University's Admission Team reports the following:
- 222 First Year students and 70 transfer students will be welcomed to campus in the fall
- 125 of incoming students will be residential students
- Transfer applications are up 83% this year as compared to last year.
- First Year applications are up 83% over last year
- Applications from women are up 25% compared to last year
- There are 91 men who will join us in the fall (75 First Year students & 16 Transfers)
The campus is actively preparing for the incoming students in the fall with renovations to residence halls and the O'Connell Athletic Center. Consider stopping by campus for a personal tour. Email

The United States presidential election of 1988 was the 51st quadrennial United States presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 8, 1988. Incumbent Vice President George H. W. Bush, the Republican nominee, defeated Democratic Governor Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts. Vice President Bush visited the St. Joe's campus in the fall for a campaign rally.

Alumni Trip to Ireland: Highlighting the Homestead of Catherine McAuley Sept. 30 - Oct. 7
The Office of Alumni Relations, in conjunction with Cruise Planners, is offering a trip to Dublin, Ireland, with stops in several other historic locations. The tour will begin with a visit to the homestead of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy - the very foundation upon which the University of Saint Joseph thrives. USJ Bluejays prepare for active seasons
The USJ Athletic department is preparing for the addition of several new teams: men's basketball, men's soccer, and men's lacrosse (2019-20). Additionally, the already active swimming and diving team as well as the cross country team will include women and men.
Joining the USJ staff in October 2017, Men's Basketball Consultant and Hall of Fame Coach Jim Calhoun has been working alongside Associate Director of Men's Basketball Glen Miller to lead the effort to build USJ's first-ever men's basketball program for the 2018-19 season. Miller and Calhoun's initial efforts have revolved around recruiting, scheduling, and managing day-to-day operations of the startup program.
