Collaboration and Compassion
A Rescue Success Story
In early May, a family member of an overwhelmed cat caretaker in Weld County contacted Animal Friends Alliance to ask for help re-homing a colony of cats. It was a story we know well: a couple of cats turn into a few litters, and before long, there are more cats than one person, or family, can care for. The family knew they needed help and wanted to make sure the cats found a safe place to go.
We sprang into action and on our first trip to the colony, we brought back over 20 cats and kittens. Over multiple trips and in collaboration with Weld County Animal Control authorities, the Humane Society of Weld County, and Larimer Humane Society, we were able to safely retrieve the cats who needed help. Between the three shelters, the cats received needed medical care, were spayed/neutered, and were given the chance to find safe new homes. Animal Friends Alliance ended up taking in over 30 cats and we are happy to report that all of the adult cats have been adopted to indoor homes with loving families; we still have a few kittens waiting to be big enough to be adopted!
Apple and Pistachio are two young mama cats who found some TLC in a foster home before being happily adopted together!
We are proud to be a resource for families in need in Northern Colorado and are grateful to our animal welfare partners for helping to secure the best outcome for these animals. We're also grateful to you! We couldn't answer the call for help without the generosity and dedication of our supporters, donors, and Animal Advocate Club members. Thank you for creating a brighter future for animals like Apple and Pistachio.

PLAY YARD UPGRADE AT OUR TAFT HILL CAMPUS
One of our favorite things about our Taft Hill Campus is our ability to have play groups for our shelter dogs. Play groups are a great way for dogs to have fun and get much needed exercise and social interaction.
Blue Ocean Enterprises generously donated their time and talent to renovating our play yard to make it the best possible space for our animals! We are so grateful for
their hard work, especially in this heat! Our dogs are loving this new space. Click here to see who is at our Taft Hill Shelter to enjoy this new yard!

Have You Played BrewPawPaw Bingo Yet?
We're over halfway through BrewPawPaw Bingo, but you still have plenty of time to get your stamps to earn a signature tulip glass. It's been so much fun to see our supporters and friends out playing bingo and we are so thankful to everyone who's already made this event such a success. If you haven't gotten your card yet, there are still a few available at Rally King Brewing and Maxline Brewing, so get yours today or learn more here!
This month we would like to highlight our Platinum sponsor, Rally King Brewing! Rally King Brewing is located in Fort Collins and is one of our favorite hang out spots. Leashed and well-behaved pets are welcome on the patio, and their menu includes a wide range of beers to satisfy anyone! Rally King is a true friend to animals in our community! Be sure to redeem your bingo prize tulip glass at Rally King!
We'd also like to give a special shout-out to Loveland Aleworks for not only participating in BrewPawPaw Bingo, but for choosing Animal Friends Alliance as their June Pints for the People (or Pups) beneficiary. Every Wednesday in June (and there are still two Wednesdays left!), they donate $1 from each pint or four-pack to Animal Friends Alliance to support our programs that help dogs and cats in our community! Aside from their awesome beers (especially sours!) be sure to cool down with their rotating selections of beer slushies this summer!

You may remember sweet bully mix Harrison from past newsletters, including last month's feature. We're happy to report that after more than a year and a half in our care, Harrison, or "Harry," to those who love him, has finally found his new family!
During his stay with us, Harry battled serious allergies and digestive issues, but thanks to a loving foster home, diligent staff attention, and your generous support, he received the care, love, and time he needed to thrive.
We got an update from his new family and learned that Harrison is being pampered with snuggles in bed, lounging on the couch, and playing with his new dog buddy. "He fits in perfectly" his new family tell us!
One of Harrison's new hobbies is squirrel watching with his new doggy best friend. His favorite pastime is still snuggling with his people, though. Congratulations, Harrison!
