NVTA's FY2026–2031 Six Year Program (SYP) Update

Sree Nampoothiri, Transportation Planning and Programming Senior Manager, NVTA, gave an overview of the FY2026-2031 SYP public comment period, which was open from April 2 - May 17. NVTA received approximately 702 public comments from 267 commenters. We are grateful for the input we received as participation from our community is a vital component of our process. Public Comment Summary

FY2030/31 Pay As You Go (PayGo) Funding Approval -

Nearly $776 million Available

The Authority unanimously adopted the proposed Regional Revenue Fund FY2030/31 PayGo funding levels. Michael Longhi, CFO, NVTA, shared the available PayGo funding for the two-year SYP update is nearly $776 million. Mr. Longhi explained how this number is calculated by taking raw revenue projections from 2030 and 2031 and then following a 14 step calculation to determine the amount available for the FY2026-2031 SYP. The table below represents the projected revenue estimates for FY2030/31 to reach the available PayGo funding.

Next Steps:

NVTA staff are reviewing 27 projects, requested by eight jurisdictions, with a total funding request of $1.26 billion for the FY2026-2031 SYP cycle. With nearly $776 million in PayGo funding available, staff will make recommendations to the following NVTA committees before bringing recommendations to the Authority for final consideration.

Upcoming NVTA Committee meetings:

Planning Coordination Advisory Committee (PCAC) - June 17 at 5:30 p.m.
Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) - June 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Planning and Programming Committee (PPC) - June 18 at 6:00 p.m.

The PPC will develop a final set of recommendations for consideration and anticipated adoption by the Authority on July 9. All upcoming meetings will be livestreamed on NVTA's YouTube channel.
