A WCHS legend is retiring. Words cannot express our appreciation for Craig Stewart for all of his years of service at WCHS.
Craig Stewart has been known affectionately to the Bulldog community as “Stu” for over 40 years. He has worked with nine Athletic Directors in every capacity in the Athletics Department since 1977 to ensure that our matches, games, and events run smoothly. He also did a brief coaching stint in 1986 for the wrestling team. He has always had the support of his wife Joanne and their three children, Bradley, Cody, and Grace, in his efforts to be at the school from morning to night helping with every type of sporting activity. His greatest joy is simply watching the kids compete and grow up before his eyes. He is proud that he has given two generations of Bulldogs support, advice, and friendship and that he has been repaid with visits and updates from so many of his former athletes as they continue with their lives beyond WCHS. He and Joanne are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren. Stu is incredibly grateful to the Churchill community for all the support he has received over the years. Enjoy retirement, Stu. It will be a long time before we stop looking for you when we enter the stadium.
