Vicki's History
Vicki L. Walker is the Director of the Oregon Department of State Lands. Appointed by the State Land Board in 2018, Walker leads the Department’s work to manage school lands, protect waters and wetlands, and oversee South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Elliott State Research Forest.
Walker previously served as the Oregon State Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development. While at USDA, she oversaw the investment of $4.8 billion for more than 24,000 projects that helped rural Oregonians.
Before joining the USDA, Walker served for ten years in the Oregon Legislature (2003 to 2009) where she was a member of the Ways and Means Committee, overseeing budgets for natural resource and public safety agencies.
She received a B.S. from the University of Oregon and attended Lane Community College. Director Walker is President Emeritus of the National Association of State Trust Lands.
