June 2017
The Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce has been busy! Here's a brief recap of the last couple of months:

First and foremost, many of our members came together to celebrate the achievements and contributions of our colleagues at the Annual Chamber Awards Luncheon. All of the awardees contribute to our county in different and important ways, and make this a great place to live, work and play. We were honored to recognize the following individuals and organizations:

  • Phyllis Goldman Award: Susan Riordan
  • Terri Bridenbecker Young Professional Award: Katy Vitale
  • Community Leadership Award: Jennifer Haines
  • Small Business Less Than 5 Years: Prison City Pub & Brewery
  • Small Business 5+ Years: COAST Physical Therapy
  • Business Leader Award: Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Non-Profit of the Year Award: Seymour Library
There were also some great networking events.
FLP Group hosted a fantastic Business at Noon, with a great lunch, amazing tour, personalized magazines, and awesome door prizes. Then we were at Cayuga Museum for a Business After Five showcasing their exhibit on the publishing industry in 19th century Auburn. Great food and fun was had by all, and perhaps a little learning, too! Then finally it was off to Owasco Yacht Club for a Business After Five. Despite a rainy day, it was great to spend some time at the lake, especially by the fireplace in the clubhouse. READ MORE

Chemung Canal Trust Co. will be relocating its downtown Auburn  branch, but it won't be moving very far.  The bank is planning to move to the building next door at 110 Genesee St. - that's about 50 yards east of the company's current location. "We love being downtown but our current location is a giant space, far exceeding the amount of square footage needed to efficiently and effectively provide services to our customers," President and CEO Anders M. Tomson said in a press release. "When the opportunity became available to move next door we jumped at it. It's like the best of both worlds."
The new branch is approximately 2,800 square feet, roughly one-third the size of its current space. Tomson said there will be no reduction in staffing and the bank does not anticipate any changes in office hours. READ MORE
