A Well Deserved Thank You!
As the end of my first term as Chapter President comes to a close, I am so proud of the accomplishments this Chapter has made, but it could not have been done without help from so many.
First, I want to thank our membership for your support of MPI New Jersey and allowing me to serve as your Chapter President. You support this Chapter in so many ways with your volunteer time, attendance at programs, and simply sharing MPI with your colleagues. You have been the inspiration that keeps me passionate about MPI.
Another thank you goes to our Sponsors. It would be impossible to accomplish all that we do in a term without your generous support.
One of the best parts of serving as Chapter President has been serving with the current Board of Directors. You all work so hard for this Chapter and I'm proud of the legacy each of you will leave on this chapter. You have each become dear friends to me and for that I am grateful.
Lastly, I want to thank my husband Rick for supporting me and allowing me the time to serve in this capacity. You have a way to make the successes of this position sweeter and the failures less sour.
To say that this term has not gone as I had planned would be a huge understatement. However, it has been amazing to watch how our community has responded when faced with adversity. W
e have bonded together, learned together, leaned on each other and grew together. It has not been an easy road but the ride will get smoother and the lessons learned will make us stronger for the future.

ou are invited to join MPI New Jersey in a virtual Town Hall Meeting.
The purpose of the Town Hall is to bring our community together, share valuable updates about MPI, such as membership relief, education opportunities and what MPI New Jersey is working on. We will also be inducting our new 2020-2021 Board of Directors!
We will have time for an open conversation, so please come prepared with questions for our Office of the President.

Pandit Dasa Presents "Mindfulness and Resilience for Boosting Morale during Social Distancing"
During our current time of change and uncertainty, our stress and anxiety levels can go through the roof. It is absolutely crucial for us to be able to maintain our physical, mental and emotional health so we can take care of ourselves, our family and remain productive in our professional life. This talk combined with writing exercises will address the following items:
*Importance of Positive Relationships
*The myth of multitasking
*Healthy Eating
*Unplugged Sleep
*Regular Exercise
*Maintaining a Personal Hobby
Participants will also learn the science behind mindfulness and will be virtually guided through a variety of mindfulness practices for reducing stress, improving productivity and emotional intelligence.

Virtual Education Program
On June 9th, we partnered with MPI Chapters including MPI Connecticut River Valley, MPI Greater New
York,
and MPI Westfield in a joint Chapter Event with Cindy Novotny presented "Recharge, Refocus &
Reenergize." That is certainly what Cindy did too... we left this program feeling inspired and optimistic about about the recovery of our industry.
Cindy Novotny lead us through a rapid, thought-provoking session that delivered the spark we all needed to move through the COVID-19 phases required by individual state and company policies. This session offered ideas on how to get back to business and create energy and excitement around our industry.

On June 18th the MPI Big East Chapter presented "A Road Less Traveled" with Michael Dominguez.
As COVID-19 has drastically changed the landscape of the meetings industry, we now face a world, country, economy, and industry traveling a road much less traveled as we begin to restart our global commerce engine and hospitality industry. The post COVID-19 environment will require our ability to work together, pivot often, and learn as a community.
Michael shared data to update us on the current situation Globally in regards to COVID-19 and how our industry will prepare and recover for 2020 and 2021.
