ON THE GO Mobile Food Pantry
Produce Market Day
 
Throughout the year, Interfaith takes its Food Pantry on the road to provide for our neighbors in need. Recently,  Interfaith distributed 100 boxes of fruits and vegetables, provided by the Montgomery County Food Bank, to 539 individuals at Mission Woods Apartment Complex!

Five Who Share Luncheon

Interfaith was thrilled to present six leaders in the community with awards for their unwavering service to The Woodlands, adding a new award category for 2017's post-disaster relief efforts. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the event raised much-needed funds to support Interfaith's programs and services focused on helping families in crisis and our Senior neighbors . Additionally, this event kicked off our Celebration of Excellence Gala season!
Local Schools Donate to Interfaith's Food Pantry

Local elementary schools know that hunger doesn't take a summer vacation. As part of their yearly Citizens in Action program, the first-graders at David Elementary  were each given one dollar, which they turned into  $2,517 for the Interfaith Food Pantry! To top that off, students at The Woodlands Methodist School donated 1,298 pounds of food to our Food Pantry in conjunction with Red Nose day.  On behalf of our President and CEO, Missy Herndon, and Interfaith of The Woodlands, we thank you, David Elementary and The Woodlands Methodist School!

 
ESL Class Graduation
 
Interfaith ESL classes enjoyed an end of semester celebration! Over 100 Students, representing more than 30 countries, celebrated with their teaches by bringing dishes from their native countries. A special thank you to all our volunteers who serve as teachers and tutors for this community education program. We couldn't have done it without you!


 
Bike Donation
 
Interfaith was thrilled to be chosen as Bike The Woodlands' charity of the month in May. As a result, Interfaith received a donation of both bikes and the proceeds from their sale  from Bike The Woodlands' fair at North Shore Park. 
Success at the Senior Community Games

Interfaith of The Woodlands recently hosted its annual Senior Community Games, boasting 136 senior participants! As the eldest in the room lifted the torch and kicking off the fiesta-themed party, the participants spent the day enjoying different games and activities together. The day ended with a talent show and awards for all! Thank you to our many volunteers who made this event possible.
 

Caregivers Conference

Interfaith  partnered with CarePartners to provide free  skill-building and informative workshops for families caring for their loved ones and those caring for children with special needs. Nearly 170 caregivers received inspiration and encouragement along with resources and tools to care for their loved ones. Thank you to our exhibitors and volunteers, as well as Christ Church United Methodist for the beautiful venue .


A Special Mother's Day Bingo



Just in time for Mother's Day, our senior adults were surprised at their "Thursday Bingo" with an opera gram, performed by IYP Board Member Ian Ramirez and organized by Board Chair, Rob Johnson. Each of the women in the room was also presented with a flower.
 
The Cub Scouts visit Veggie Village

Cub Scout Pack 223 visited Wendtwoods Garden last month to learn more about where our food comes from and how to identify it. They were thrilled to find plants they recognized from their own gardens at home!
 
Insperity Invitational Golf Tournament
Thank you to all the volunteers and members of the NCL Bluebonnets, NCL The Woodlands, and NCR who worked more than 760 hours overseeing Admissions, on behalf of Interfaith, for the Insperity Invitational Golf Tournament! Your efforts go a long way toward helping Interfaith serve this community through our many programs and services, providing assistance and basic needs to our neighbors in crisis.
June Food Pantry Needs

Each month Interfaith's Food Pantry feeds nearly 1,500 individuals. In addition to serving the families that visit Interfaith every day, the Interfaith Food Pantry also serves home bound Seniors. Volunteers help package and delivers groceries to 185 Seniors in the senior complexes once a month.

Join us for a community-wide food drive! Help us reach a goal of 45,000 pounds of food.
