DDD Prevention Bulletin: Swimming and Water Safety
As summer approaches, more time will be spent in and around the water—making safety a top priority. For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), the risk of water-related injuries and drowning is significantly higher, making awareness especially critical for families and caregivers.
In recognition of National Water Safety Month, the DDD Clinical Resource Team has developed a new prevention bulletin, Swimming and Water Safety Awareness. This valuable resource provides important tips and guidance to help keep individuals safe.
You can also view the Water Safety for Adults with IDD webinar, hosted by DDD and presented by Children’s Specialized Hospital on May 28.
