Splash Pad at the Riverfront
Now Open
The construction at the Riverfront has brought about some amazing improvements, including the new shade structure and light up splash pad! Come see for yourself! The kids are having a blast cooling off in the water jets, and it's beautiful to watch the lights at night with the newly lighted Great River Bridge in the background. What a fun way to cool off this summer.
The hours of operation for the splash pad are 11 AM to 10 PM. A button will be operational soon, but until then the water show will happen at the top and bottom of the hour.

Main Street Challenge Grant
Local Applications due July 1
Get Funding for Your Downtown Building Project up to $100,000.
Successful revitalization projects have made Iowa Downtown centers popular travel destinations by increasing investments in local businesses, residential areas, and cultural developments in their surrounding communities. To continue this momentum, the Iowa Economic Development Authority has created the Main Street Challenge Grant for brick and mortar projects.
Main Street Iowa communities, including Burlington, may apply for the Main Street Challenge Grant. Eligible projects must be within the Downtown district. They can include building rehabilitations, facade improvements, new construction, or reuse projects. Plans will be locally judged on preservation standards, architectural significance, and impact on the community.
The maximum dollar amount to be awarded is $100,000 with a minimum award of $25,000 per project. A minimum 1:1 match is required. Other federal or state grant program awards may not be used to satisfy the cash match for the project/property. Main Street organizations may apply on behalf of one project/property.

At the Small Business Breakfast held by the Chamber of Commerce, Titan Broadcasting & Digital Group was
awarded the 2023 Small Business of the Year Award.
Titan Broadcasting & Digital Group has been broadcasting a mix of
the hottest adult contemporary and country music to our homes, businesses, and cars for years. All the while, their marketing team has been tirelessly working to help local businesses grow.
Titan Broadcasting & Digital Group is the operator of two local radio stations, 101.7 The Bull, KBKB-FM, and The New Mix 107.3, KGRS, as well as a full-scale marketing agency that provides consulting services to area businesses without the ad agency price tag. Just prior to the beginning of Covid-19, the company added a digital marketing arm to its business and rebranded as Titan Broadcasting & Digital Group. This move came at the request of many of their clients, wishing that Titan's skilled marketing consultants would be able to help them with more facets of their total marketing plans.

De Luxe Aesthetics Wins Resiliency Award
The Greater Burlington Partnership Chamber of Commerce awarded De Luxe Aesthetics the Resiliency Award during the Small Business Breakfast.
De Luxe Aesthetics endured the TIGER Project, followed by a devastating fire, and lengthy construction before they could reopen. Most businesses would have just cut their losses, packed up, and called it quits, not De Luxe! They found alternative locations to provide services, acquired another business, and kept moving toward reopening their amazing space in Downtown Burlington. They also took this time to rebrand the business to form the new Mission Medical Spa.
This award celebrates their never-ending tenacity. Congratulations De Luxe Aesthetics, aka. Mission Medical Spa!

Yesterday: A Tribute to the Beatles

Performing the Beatles since 2001, Yesterday - A Tribute to The Beatles, founded by Don Bellezzo, tours not only in the U.S. but Internationally. With seven tours of Japan, dozens more to Canada, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Bahamas, and United States military bases throughout the World, these entertainers have performed on five continents.
Yesterday has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, Showbiz Magazine, on NBC, CBS, and ABC, Dick Clark’s “Your Big Break,” Ed McMahon’s “Star Search,” and recently returned as the highlight of the annual Joe Johnson’s Beatles Cruise, aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. Sailing with Yesterday on the Beatles Tribute Cruise was Laurence Juber, formerly of "Wings," Tony Bramwell, author and longtime Beatles childhood friend, and Tony Perkins from ABC’s Good Morning America, a well know Beatles enthusiast.

Skate this Summer at the Rink
The Rink Opens June 22
Did you know that there is a synthetic ice rink at Burlington Memorial Auditorium?
In addition to regular skating this Summer Burlington Riverfront Entertainment is adding Youth Hockey Stick & Puck Night to Wednesday evenings!
Kids will learn the basic fundamentals of hockey like skating, skating with the puck, stick handling, and shooting. Helmets recommended (bike helmets will work) and gloves of any kind are also recommended but not required. Skates and sticks will be provided.

2023 Snake Alley

Art Center of Burlington presents the 56th Annual Snake Alley Art Fair on June 18, from 9 AM - 4 PM.
A celebration of creativity and community, this day long fine arts fair is the largest event of its kind in the region since 1967. Taking place on historic Snake Alley — "The Crookedest Street in the World!"
and in the leafy Heritage Hill neighborhood of a Mississippi River town, this community event features over 70 art exhibitors, as well as live music, family activities, and the best food vendors.
Iowa's typically beautiful June weather makes this Father's Day event a festive celebration. Rain or shine, the fair goes on in Heritage Hill!
SAAF is a program of the Art Center of Burlington, a non-profit, community-based arts organization dedicated to providing quality art, programs, and events in the Burlington area.

Blade Sign Grant
The Downtown Partners, Inc. Business Signage Grant Program, offers applicants up to $300 in matching grant funds for perpendicular “blade” signage for their businesses!
Blade signs have several benefits:
- Accentuating the traditional historic and walkable character of Downtown Burlington.
- Emphasizing the Downtown district as a collection of small, independent, locally owned businesses.
- Adding to the liveliness of the streetscape.
- Freeing up sidewalk space occupied by sandwich board signs.
- Encouraging businesses to explore their individuality and examine their branding.
- Increasing business visibility for potential customers who would otherwise not know anything about the business unless they were directly in front of it.
