St. Benedict's 146th Commencement Exercise was a virtual reality in these trying times. But our Gray Bee family, as usual, put together a memorable program to honor the Class of 2020 on Sunday.

Despite all the heartache and havoc that came with the pandemic,
St. Benedict’s battled through it with a competence that was second to none – from the IT staff having virtual learning ready to go from the first day of school closures with teachers, faculty and staff right behind with the proficiency of seasoned online veterans.
All that combined to make this year a one-of-a-kind success story – from College Guidance maintaining its high standard of getting our students into universities and colleges this fall, while giving our seniors their just due – albeit virtually – all the way to the end of graduation last Sunday.
The seniors were honored all last week. The Class of 2020 was recognized in a series of pre-recorded events that substituted the traditional Senior Awards Dinner, usually held on the Thursday leading up to graduation, before Anthony Augustin was named the
Presidential Award Winner
at the award ceremony during Friday’s Virtual Convocation. The 130 Seniors were then feted with
Commencement
on Sunday.

Convocation is always open to Alumni
, but with it turning virtual, it’s become a who’s who for alumni bragging rights during this pandemic. At 8:30 a.m. on any Monday, Wednesday and Friday during our extended Winter Term, alumni were turning out in droves for a morning prayer, singing and affirmations. Friday morning’s Convo was the last until June 29. When we return for First Term/Summer Phase on July 6, Convo will happen every day. Can any Class step up and challenge the Big 3 (Class of ’83, ’93 & ’03) with the most attendees at Convo? Stay tuned.
