Ingham County Elder Services Millage

Did you know that Ingham County is one of 77 counties in Michigan with an Elder Services millage?

The purpose of the millage is to help older adults 60+ live with independence and dignity in their own homes as long as possible.

In 2020, the millage was overwhelmingly approved 76% by the voters and levied .3 mils for four years. This translates to $30 a year for a home worth $200,000 and assessed at $100,000. Millage proceeds averaged $2.5 million a year, creating a powerful impact!

Over 12,000 older adults throughout the county have received services from this millage. To date, wait lists for meals on wheels in Ingham County have been eliminated, and 1,000 vulnerable elders on wait lists for home care have been helped.

A campaign committee is working hard to educate voters. If you would like to help by posting a lawn sign, email the Campaign Chair Mary Ablan at marymablan@gmail.com
