Greetings!
Happy Summer!
Expressions is celebrating 35 years in business, so we figured it's a good time to bring out some of the unfinished projects we started 20-25 years ago, when we moved into our own building. If you have followed us on Facebook, you may have seen the Poppy Lampshade, Hibiscus Lampshade, CatBird House Chimes, Red Hat Chimes, and many other Stained Glass and Fused Glass projects we've finishished in recent months.
I've had lots of fun working on these, and it's very satisfying to see my workroom get put in order. I'm uncovering a lot of supplies I forgot I had, and I get to put out the extra glass and supplies I don't need anymore, since those projects are finished.
In a few years, we will probably be winding down so we can enjoy more time with family, and volunteering with some local ministries. We'd like to see someone take over who has a love for teaching and great enthusiasm for art glass crafts. For now, please take advantage of the classes we're offering as some of Jennifer's techniques are not taught anywhere else that we know of. A few of our classes are offered as Private Instruction, to meet demand when someone can't wait for a group to form. So far, we offer Beginning Fused Glass Hanging and Beginning Fused Glass Suncatcher, and Looking Glass Mosaic Hanging on an Individual or 2-3 person session.
Andy's Beginning Stained Glass class is starting this week; see class description below.
We hope to see you soon for a class or to stock up on supplies.
We are stocked up on inspiration~

Beginning Stained Glass
Thursdays, June 25 - July 23
6 - 8 pm Only 2 Spots Left!
5 Weeks
$169 (Plus Supplies, minimum $200)
This is an excellent class for beginners, or anyone who needs a refresher course. Students will select from over a dozen designs including hummingbird, butterfly, coyote, canyon sunset, and more to make a copper foil hanging. Copper foil is the most popular stained glass method, allowing for intricate and delicate designs, as well as strength in 3-D work such as lampshades, boxes and kaleidoscopes.
We will cover template making, glass cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, patina and finishing techniques. This class provides a great foundation for learning more advanced techniques, and is a prerequisite for our intermediate and advanced stained glass classes.
