The George H. & Ella M. Rodgers Library
is turning TEN!
Join us for our  Tenth Birthday Celebration!
Friday, June 7 - Sunday, June 9
Friday, June 7
9am-Noon:  Yarn bombing of the library by “The Stitchers,” Rodgers’ knitting group.  Library interior and lawn.
1-5pm:  Cake Drop-Off for Silent Auction. Click here or see below for information on how to submit a cake for auction. Community Room.
5:30-7pm:  Silent auction! Bid on your favorite cakes!  Community Room.
5:30pm:  Food trucks! Purchase some dinner, take a spot on the grass, and listen to the band!  Library lawn.
6pm:  Beatles tribute band “Beatles For Sale!" A splendid time is guaranteed for all!  Library lawn.
6:30pm:  Awards given for Year-Long Reading Challenge! Please turn in your reading log by June 6. Library lawn.
Donate a Cake or 12 Cupcakes to Our Silent Cake Auction!
Donate a cake (or 12 cupcakes) and enter it in our silent auction! All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library of Hudson, NH. Register your cake (or 12 cupcakes)  here .
Saturday, June 8
9am-2pm:  Silent auction continues! Come bid on your favorite cake or cupcakes!  Community Room.
9:30am-4:30pm: Friends of the Library of Hudson mobile book sale. Library lawn.
10am-4pm:  Bouncy house for the kiddos!  Library lawn.
11am-3pm:  Petting zoo.  Library grounds.
11am-3pm:  Kona Ice truck! Cool off with some flavored shaved ice!  Library lawn.
11:30am-12:30pm: Performance by children's musician and performer Aaron Tormberg. Library lawn.
11am-3pm:  Friends of the Library (Mobile) Book sale.  Library lawn.
Noon:  Family barbecue! Belly up for some tasty grilled summer fare.  Library lawn.
1pm:  Family music provided by the ABTs!  Library lawn.
2pm:  Gift basket raffle and live auction! Director  Linda Pilla  will auction off baskets donated by patrons, local businesses and by the staff, Trustees and Friends of the Library of Hudson, NH, to the highest bidder. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library.  Community Room.
Throughout the day:  Balloon animals! Face painting! Big games!  Library lawn.

Three sessions available - sign up for the session most convenient for you! Registration is required, so click on the time to register. All materials provided. Community Room.

Reading Challenge Deadline
Thursday, June 6
Read outside the box! Complete as many books as you choose from our list of challenge categories between 7/1/18 and our Tenth Birthday Celebration (see above) when we will award contest prizes.
Grand prize is a $75 gift certificate to the restaurant of your choice!
Visit rodgerslibrary.readsquared.com to register for the challenge and log books, or pick up a Reading Challenge sheet at the Reference Desk.
Please turn in all paper logs to the Reference Desk by June 6.

Meet Lucy Stone: Enter the Antebellum World of the Abolition and Women's Rights Movements
Wednesday, June 5, 6:30pm | Community Room
The Hudson Community Club, the local chapter of The General Federation of Women's Clubs, presents historical interpreter Judith Black as Lucy Stone, the first woman hired by the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society as a public speaker and the "Shining Star" of the Abolition and Women’s Rights Movements.
Light refreshments will be served courtesy of the Hudson Community Club.
This program is sponsored by the Hudson Community Club and a Grant from NH Humanities.

Life Coaching: Exploring Boundaries

Discuss different styles of boundary-setting and different ways of managing your boundaries with life coach Diane MacKinnon. Learn the foundation of self-awareness that needs to be in place prior to boundary-setting. A handout with resources will be given out at the presentation.

Qigong

Join Qigong instructor Joyce Palmer for an introductory class.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese meditation and movement practice. It has been used for over 4,000 years to maintain wellness and prevent illness. This time-honored practice uses breathing, gentle stretching, bending and range of motion movements.

Make a Gourd Birdhouse

Join Leah Reed from Blue Whale Arts for a hands on gourd craft workshop. Make and decorate a birdhouse using a real gourd.

Proceeds from the SHP Book Sales support library programs such as the recent "Visit With Santa" and the"Visit and Tea with Queen Victoria," and the light pole banners in the Library parking lot.

There will be no "Third Thursday" Second Hand Prose Booksale until further notice.
Silent Cake Auction!
In Celebration of the Rodgers Library's 10th Birthday

Bake a cake or 12 cupcakes to be auctioned off at the Library's Tenth Birthday Celebration on Saturday, June 8, and benefit the Friends! All proceeds from the auction benefit the Friends of the Library of Hudson, NH.
