Greetings Sorors of the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter:
Sorors it’s hard to believe that I am writing my last newsletter message of this sorority year, and what a year it has been. As I reflected on this sorority year, I am so proud of the work we have done as a chapter to support the St. Louis community. We faced the challenges of meeting in the virtual world but this year we also added several in-person meetings and events and we made a smooth transition. Pivoting back to the in-person world has not been easy but we made it happen.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Executive Committee and the Executive Board for their support. I have always believed that a leader is only as good as the team they lead, and I have been blessed with a wonderful team.
I also want to thank you for entrusting me with the leadership of this awesome chapter. It has been a very rewarding experience and as I journey into the second year of my term, I’m looking forward to an even bigger and better year.
As I conclude, Happy Father’s Day to the special men in your lives.
May you have a safe, peaceful summer break.

A Word from the Vice Presidents

Greetings Sorors!
Welcome to June and the month we celebrate Juneteenth! Wow, we made it to the end of the 2022-2023 sorority year! This month not only closes out the sorority year but also sets the stage for planning the 2023-2024 sorority year. After being introduced to Strategic Planning at the National, Regional, and Local levels we are excited and ready to begin developing our strategic plan for the coming sorority year. The programs, activities, and events of this year provided the accomplishments we want to build on.
This was a busy year for programs in our chapter. The long-awaited ‘In-Person’ return of Breakfast With Santa was a success. Community Awareness & Involvement’s presentation of the second Trunks up Extravaganza was exciting and well attended. All the program events of the year served our communities well.
Our youth programs presented amazing events and learning sessions for the Twinkles, Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, and EMBODI this year. Dive Into Books with Delta shared the gift of books by reading and donating books to elementary schools throughout our service areas.
Economic Development presented learning opportunities and resources to the community, Education awarded 21 Mind Guard scholarships to deserving students, and Physical & Mental Health educated the community and sorors on health challenges affecting us all.
Wow! You made this happen St. Louis Alumnae! Congratulations and thank you to the Programs Planning and Development committees on a successful sorority year of service!
Looking forward to continuous service to our community in the coming year! Happy Juneteenth, Sorors!
Warmest regards,
Laverne James-Bady

Meet 2nd Saturday of each month
10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The Twinkles finished the year shining bright with an art therapy & self-care session, and a gardening & STEM demonstration.
They learned techniques to relieve the worries of a stressful day which included art therapy through painting, breathing, and other techniques. They also created their own sleep masks and designed their own scented body butter. The combined session prepared the Twinkles to finish the school year strong.
Additionally, the Twinkles were able to get their hands dirty by planting a flower in their pot, and by making slime.
Our Twinkles became budding scientists during the "Slime Time" STEM demonstration. They worked together to experiment with the ingredients to make slime. Once they created their slime, the "Slime Time Olympics" commenced which tested the elasticity, stickiness, and other chemicals properties of their slime.
The Twinkles completed their third service project of the year by bringing smiles to seniors with greeting cards.
