Join us for our Summer Picnic June 21st at the Kendall County Fairgrounds! The evening will include our Annual Meeting, Recognition of our Scholarship Recipients, and a celebration of our members and the work we hope to accomplish in the coming year.

Anyone who is involved in agriculture personally or professionally is invited to a casual breakfast where individuals from different organizations, businesses, and companies can mingle together and discuss current issues. Tasha Bunting from Illinois Farm Bureau will be discussing current livestock issues and the avian flu.

We will conclude the morning by 8:30 a.m. There will be a table available for flyers, brochures, business cards, etc., so please feel free to bring items that you would like to share. Please extend the invitation to anyone who may be interested! Contact Grundy County SWCD to Register!

Summer Intern Wanted
Know a college student looking for experience in the Ag Industry? The Kendall-Grundy Farm Bureau is happy to once again offer an internship opportunity to college students. Our internship offers a flexible opportunity for students to gain experience and explore a variety of topics including: ag education, consumer education, legislation and politics, volunteer management and more. This seminar will explore the various options available to farm families to achieve common legacy goals. Since all families and farms are different, various alternatives and funding options are evaluated. Maps for Acreage Reporting are Available

Maps are now available at the Kendall and Grundy County FSA Office for acreage reporting purposes. If you wish schedule an appointment to report your acres or to receive your maps, please call:

Grundy County FSA Office at (815) 942-0359.

Kendall County FSA Office at (630) 553-5821  


The acreage reporting deadline for Kendall County and Grundy County is July 15, 2022.

To maintain program eligibility for benefits, you must file timely acreage reports. Failure to file an acreage report by the crop acreage reporting deadline may cause ineligibility for future program benefits. FSA will not accept acreage reports provided more than a year after the acreage reporting deadline.

Producers are encouraged to file their acreage reports as soon as planting is completed.

Take a night off from cooking and support Extension with drive-thru dinner June 16

 

Tickets Available through June 10 at the Kendall County Extension Office

 

Get a tasty dinner in a convenient drive-thru format and support your local community with the Friends of Extension and 4-H Foundation. Tickets are on sale for the annual pick-up pork dinner on June 16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the University of Illinois Extension office, 7775B IL Route 47, Yorkville. Each meal includes pork option, applesauce, coleslaw, baked beans, dinner roll, and cookie. Options include: a two-chop dinner for $14, one chop for $12, two porkburgers for $10, or one porkburger for $8.

 

Tickets will be available through the Kendall County Extension office until June 10. A very limited number are available at the door for an extra dollar charge per ticket. The annual fundraiser supports University of Illinois Extension, 4-H, and Master Gardener programs in Kendall County. The Kendall County Pork Producers generously donate their time to prepare the meal, and volunteers from Friends of Extension, 4-H Foundation, Extension Council, Master Gardeners, and 4-H also donate their time to help.To learn more or get your tickets, call 630-553-5823.
