To honor the heritage and energy of this piece, Jace chose to mount this piece by sewing it onto acid-free, pure white matting to preserve its integrity and texture. This is the most archival method of mounting this beautiful piece. No glues or adhesives were used and the sew method is reversible. When sewing this down to the mat board the stitches are hidden with in the piece so they are not visible or a distraction.
Next, Jace chose a 3-inch distressed cream ornate frame that comes to us from our supplier, Omega. This frame emulates the rustic energy and texture of the handmade paper. To finish this piece off, 99% UV-protected acrylic was chosen to shield the piece from damage and fading. By choosing acrylic for glazing instead of glass you accomplish two things, the weight of the piece is significantly reduced and the chance of breakage is also less than glass.
With this design complete, all the materials used ensure its colors remain bold and lively for generations to come.
