June 8 – Miss Liz

Miss Liz uses a blend of original songs, classic kids tunes, pop music, and an array of props to inspire kids and grown-ups alike to sing, dance, and experience the joy of musical silliness together.

Wendy & DB, an award-winning kindie duo from Chicago, with two guitars, a ukulele, and their voices, write and perform songs about science, nature, diversity, animals, safety, and the arts. Their unique style is reflected in the music and catchy lyrics along with their vocal harmonies. They examine the world with curiosity and what you experience is just plain fun! Wendy and DB’s live shows for pre-school age children and families explore a variety of instruments and joyful props that get everyone moving, singing, and dancing. Wendy and DB write their songs with inclusion, diversity, love, kindness, and family values.

Chair Yoga
Ages 15+

Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines physical poses, controlled breathing, and meditation or relaxation. Gentle yoga classes use basic yoga poses in a slow, low-impact way, flowing from
pose to pose or staying with one pose for a longer amount of time for a slower paced and gentle practice. Gentle yoga does not necessarily mean that it is an easy class. The intensity may be lower, but the focus and commitment are high. This gentle yoga class moves at a steady pace, slowly cycling though a series of floor based or seated asanas and standing poses to balance strength and steadiness
in body and mind. It is appropriate for all levels and ages of practitioners. A gentle yoga practice is a great choice for anyone who is afraid they are not flexible or fit enough to do the yoga poses.

CULTURAL DIVERSITY
The Warrenville Park District is looking to offer more culturally diverse opportunities for programs and special events. Help us to develop a greater appreciation of cultural diversity as we plan our recreation programming. If you or someone you know has an idea you would like us to consider, please let us know. Your suggestions and comments will be a valuable resource for evaluating future programming. Please submit programs ideas to Matt Odom, Superintendent of Recreation, at matto@warrenvilleparks.org.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Warrenville Park District is pleased to offer the opportunity for scholarships to individuals and families in need. The district accepts applications for scholarships throughout the year. Funds are raised through corporate and individual donations, and certain park district special events. These funds allow the district to offer low cost programs and fitness memberships to families and individuals that meet our program guidelines.
