House Notes | June 2022
Every family that comes to Family House has a different story about their child’s diagnosis, their journey with treatment, how it made an impact on the other members of their family, and an amazing list of accomplishments the family has made to get their sick kid to San Francisco. But one thing we almost always hear from them is that Family House allows them to focus on their sick child and not worry about anything else. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers and all the unsung heroes who share our mission of providing a home away from home, every family in need has a home away from home when they come to Family House.

Read our annual report to see what we accomplished last year because of donors like you!
The Dominguez Family
Right after her 1st birthday, Jocelyn was diagnosed with stage 4, high-risk neuroblastoma. When a 7x7 cm. tumor was discovered in her chest, it was wrapped around major arteries and nerves, coming dangerously close to her spinal cord.

The Dominguez family’s world was flipped upside down and they were faced with the challenges of getting Jocelyn to treatment over two hours away from home. That was when Jocelyn’s mother, Chrissy, her husband, and their son found out about Family House.

Hear directly from Chrissy about their journey through Jocelyn’s treatment and recovery, and how Family House became a safe haven for them through it all.

Family House’s YPAC Raises Over $7k During Annual Bay to Breakers Fundraising Event

Congratulations to Family House SF Young Professionals Advisory Council (YPAC) for another successful Bay to Breakers! This year, YPAC raised more than $7,000 for Family House, which makes an immediate impact on every kid and family staying with us.
Family House continues to be open during the COVID-19 health crisis. Though we are operating with a significantly smaller staff and have suspended nearly all volunteer activities, we are committed to maintaining our mission of providing compassionate care and dignity to families in need.
