LOLA Sound Garden Returns! Participate in workshops to create artwork that will be a part of the exhibit!
SIGN UP NOW, HAPPENING SOON! Once again, JG Everest, a composer based in the Twin Cities, will return to LOLA this summer and create a LOLA Sound Garden, site-specific music and art installation that combines the sounds of the surrounding nature with 25+ small speakers, hidden in art objects, like flower pots or birdhouses, creating a trail through the woods, leading participants through different musical sounds in a relaxing, outdoor environment. View the artwork as you enjoy this reflective journey. All ages will enjoy this interactive walk through the woods. Free and open to the public Saturday, June 18th, 12-4 pm, Monday, June 20th, 11-4 pm, and Tuesday, June 21st, 11-3 pm.
Want to help make Sound Garden even more special? Join one or all four of our workshops! These free workshops will include a walk through the Sound Garden space with a local DNR Naturalist, and then with the guidance of a local artist, participants will create a piece of photography, poetry, painting, or music to contribute to the Sound Garden. Work will get returned after the conclusion of Sound Garden the following week. All ages are welcome, though children should be accompanied by an adult. All workshops are free, but registration is required.
