Pre Paris Air Show Delegation
Delegates Visit Industry Leaders & Innovators in France:
The FACC-PNW and the WA State Department of Commerce traveled to Nantes Saint-Nazaire and the Pays de la Loire region on June 11 to learn more about the local industries and explore opportunities for economic partnership.

Participants, representing several economic development organizations from Washington State, learned about the area's historic shipbuilding past during a visit at the Port of Saint-Nazaire (above, left). They also discovered the aerospace, life sciences and maritime innovations taking place in the region. Visits included Spirit AeroSystems (FACC-PNW Executive Director Jack Cowan, above right), Daher , EMC2 renewable energies cluster , and Technocampus Smart Factory . During their last day in the region, delegates took an excursion to Le Mans. In Le Mans, they were hosted as VIPs for the beginning of the notorious 24 Hours of Le Mans race .

After welcoming the President of the Regional Council for Pays de la Loire region in Seattle at the end of May, this learning expedition is another promising step to foster cooperation between our two regions. With similar economic climates, the opportunities for cooperation and shared learning are extensive!

June 15-21: FACC-PNW Welcomed EDHEC Delegation

EDHEC Business School, based in Lille and Paris, sent a contingent of Executive MBA students to Seattle for a week-long Learning Expedition organized by the FACC-PNW about our regional economy. In addition to experiencing the culture of the PNW, students discovered the broad variety of sectors and companies in the PNW (i.e. aeronautics, space, bio-technology and research in health, high-tech innovations, retail, food industry, maritime). The students visited major U.S. companies like Boeing, Microsoft and Amazon. They heard presentations by startups and innovators impacting important industry sectors. The MBA students also had the unique opportunity to hear from French business people living and working in the USA at several of these companies, accessing diverse perspectives on the promises of an international career.
News from Community Partners
North Seattle French School:
Moving to Shoreline this Fall! Enrollment still open.
Have you ever considered bilingual education for your child? This fall, North Seattle French School (NSFS) is moving to a new, larger location in Shoreline and is still accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year!

NSFS, an independent preschool and elementary school, offers an engaged community, small class sizes, instruction by native speakers, and a focus on social-emotional learning in a bilingual environment. The new location significantly increases the school’s classroom space, allowing NSFS to expand and offer a full-time pre-school in years to come.

The new campus boasts great amenities like access to a play field and indoor recreation, and is well-positioned for students and families coming from both North Seattle and the northern suburbs. With this larger space facilitating continued growth, NSFS is still accepting applications for preschool through 5th grade for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. No French language experience is needed for students entering preschool or kindergarten. To learn more, please visit the NSFS website , contact the office via email or call 206-365-1034.
Les Petits Livres Special Summer Offer:
Out of school, but not out of books!

Les Petits Livres , a book rental service specializing in children's books in French, offers a special Summer Rental Plan. For only $30, you will get 6 books to keep for up to 90 days, a free tote bag, activities to support reading for fun over the summer and a chance to win prizes.
