Manager's Minute

I hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather as boating season has come under way. As you may have noticed the hydraulic dredging equipment is still in full swing in the eastern bay of the lake. This will go on all season, so make sure to steer clear of the equipment. If you are entering or exiting Bean Blossom Creek, please stay within the orange channel markers.

So far it's been a safe start to the boating season. Conservation officers have been more prevalent on the water this season. They are looking mainly for safety infractions and making sure that people have up-to-date boat registrations and fishing licenses. We have been in talks with the local Lieutenant about getting a permanent conservation officer boat lift and boat to keep on Lake Lemon.

In other safety news, as we approach the annual fireworks celebration please keep in mind that if you plan to watch from the water you must keep anchored boats a minimum of 300 yards from the shoreline.

Cheers,

Adam Casey, LLCD District Manager

If you are like me, you have a can or two hanging our in your pantry that you can certainly part with. ;) Learn more by visiting mcum.org\events

Nonperishable items can be dropped off at the Lake Lemon Gatehouse between 8am and 8pm.

Partial solar eclipse in Wisconsin, photo credentials Cindy Bailey Marinette

On Monday April 8th 2024, Lake Lemon will experience an event 800 years in the making. The Moon will pass between the Sun and Earth, creating a darkened sky and ring of light surrounding the sun.

Lying directly in the path of totality, Lake Lemon will experience over 4 minutes of total eclipse, some of the longest in the country! To celebrate this, Riddle Point Park will host camping where you can witness the celestial event while being surrounded on three sides by water.

Watch as the moon’s shadow comes across the lake at 2,000 miles an hour. The sky will darken as waterfowl, songbirds, frogs, and insects begin chirping as if it were dusk. While festivities will last all day, the partial eclipse will begin at 1:49 pm and last until 4:22 pm, with totality lasting from 3:04 pm – 3:08 pm. Click here to see a map of eclipse totality.

Reservations will open very soon for both primitive RV and tent camping!

Lake Lemon is excited to offer this experience for you to witness such a rare event from both land and water in our unique natural setting. You will not want to miss this once in a lifetime experience! Stay tuned for more information, and for now, save the date!
