Dear West Orange Library Patrons:
Having to wait for something is never an easy thing, especially in our fast-paced world. Patience is required while anticipating the best outcome for our wait. As we look forward to the opening of our new library, we hope that you, our patrons, will understand that there is still work to be done to get us to completion day.
While the majority of the interior reconstruction has been completed, the exterior ground area work is ongoing and much needs to be done, including the patio, lighting, sidewalks, parking lot paving, and charging stations. Many items had to be delayed due to the extensive work done by the utility companies (NJ American Water and PSE&G).
In the interim period, the library annex is at 80 Main Street, Suite 230, where computers are provided along with staff to assist with user needs and book requests. The summer reading program begins June 27th at Liberty Middle School gym. Further information is on the library’s website (www.wopl.org).
Your support during this construction period is greatly appreciated. In 1950, the voters of West Orange, overwhelming approved the establishing of the West Orange Library, and the 10 Rooney site will be its third edition.
