The origin of pearls fascinated our forebears. Ancients from the Middle East believed that pearls were teardrops fallen from heaven. Diamonds On The Key recently partnered with South Florida Local Mom, Instagram Influencer, Fashionista, and Philanthropist, Tatiana Arteaga-Teo, to raise awareness and funds for Ayudame a Vivir Foundation, an organization which helps save lives of children with cancer in Guatemala. Diamonds On The Key donated 10% of all Shop Site proceeds during a month long campaign, in which Tatiana wore multiple collections of fine jewelry. It was a successful collaboration and we look forward to working again with Tatiana and the many worthy causes she continually supports!

A seldom worn gemstone and pearl necklace was transformed into a multi piece "suite" of jewelry, to commemorate the high school graduation of this client's daughter. With so many various colored gemstones to work with, and since the daughter had multiple ear piercing (6 in total!) several pairs of earrings were created by adding posts and push backs to the existing gold settings. A custom designed, chunky ring to coordinate with the earrings was produced and the original chain necklace was connected back together by adding in remaining pearls to the center. A versatile, youthful and colorful suite of jewelry was a hit for graduation, as well as a meaningful representation of an heirloom piece successfully transformed and passed down to the next generation. |

Inspired by the Edwardian & Georgian style, antique rivière gemstone statement necklaces, popularized by Anna Wintour (long-term editor of Vogue Magazine) who is often photographed wearing layers of two to four necklaces at a time, this client requested that her loose gemstones be mounted in a similar fashion. The name riviere comes from the French for "river", so the meaning is a river of gems that flows around the neck, with original antique necklaces from the 18th & 19th century, selling for well over $30,000!
Nine gemstones in total were selected to create the custom necklace with an emerald cut aquamarine being the largest center focal point, flanked by a matched pair of yellow citrines, and 6 green amethysts flowing up the necklace. As each gemstone was different in size and depth, each of the nine, 14 karat yellow gold basket settings, were entirely handmade from gold wire. Special attention was paid to the connecting links at each corner of the settings, to insure that the "weight" of the necklace would sit properly on the neck and not tip forward. The client supplied her own heavy link chain, to cut apart and refashion as the back anchor of the necklace, with a custom made clasp securing the new impressive riviere. The final result was a spectacular "vogue-worth" piece that is sure to turn heads!

In lieu of a traditional class ring, and to commemorate her daughter's graduation from MAST Academy - Class of 2021, this client recycled her own "Mother's Ring" into a new "Daughter Ring". The original Opal gemstone (daughter's birthstone) was unset from the old ring and reset into a new contemporary, 3 stone bezel set mounting, with new birthstones supplied to represent the Mom (Emerald) and Grandmother (Peridot) flanking either side. A second engraved band was added with school name and class year, also following the current trend of "stacking rings". The end result is a customized & truly original class ring! |

Inspired by the current trend of charm necklaces, this client gathered up several of her existing charms and looked to Diamonds On The Key for guidance on how to correctly transform them. First a round style "connector" was selected (Connectors available starting from $250 to fit on almost any necklace and also available set with diamonds) with 4 matching gold bails supplied and soldered to each charm, so they could fit and slide onto the connector. All 4 charms were plated in yellow gold, for a warm hue and a new trendy gold "paperclip chain" was selected (paperclip chains from Diamonds On The Key available in three sizes and starting at $685). The result is an on-point new charm necklace, which can be worn every day! |
