Leadership Oshkosh 
Class of 2019 Graduation

Forty students graduated on May 23, from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program held at The Waters. The program was started in 1989 by the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce to help people in the community grow and develop. This year marks the 30th program year! 1044 people have graduated from the Leadership Oshkosh program.
 
Leadership Oshkosh is a nine-month program that provide current and emerging leaders with information about the community's opportunities and challenges. The program brings together a diverse group of individuals who, at the end of the program, are better equipped to make key decisions affecting their own organizations, the community and themselves. During the program, participants serve as adjunct members of various boards and committees throughout the community

In addition, the class of LO 2019 raised $14,200 in support of the Community for Hope a local organization that works to prevent suicide. During graduation, the c lass members presented a check of $14,200 to Debbie Peters, executive director from the Community for Hope.
"On behalf of Community for Hope, I wish to extend our deepest gratitude to your entire group for their hard work and dedication raising funds to prevent suicide, provide intervention and grief support services for Winnebago County," stated Peters.

Community for Hope is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, formed over 18 years ago, with a mission of suicide prevention, intervention and grief support. Community for Hope is the sole agency serving Winnebago County for these purposes. 

Project G.R.I.L.L. Celebrations
Oshkosh West and Oshkosh North High Schools
This month Oshkosh West and Oshkosh North High Schools unveiled the newest designs of working fire pit/grills at outside celebrations.

Oshkosh North
Oshkosh North High School technical education students unveiled a stainless charcoal grill that looks like a tool chest.  Members from Muza Metal Products design engineering, and manufacturing teams worked with the Oshkosh North High School manufacturing technical education class to build the grill during the second semester. Muza's HR department presented to students what they look for in future employees. Read more...



Oshkosh West
Members from Oshkosh Corporation's design, engineering, and manufacturing teams worked with the Oshkosh West High School manufacturing technical education class to build fire pit/grills during the second semester. The prototype of the actual grill was designed by an Oshkosh North High School engineering youth apprenticeship student during his youth apprenticeship with Oshkosh Corporation. Read more...


What is Project G.R.I.L.L?
The grill is an extension of Project G.R.I.L.L. (Growing Readiness in Learning and Leading) an educational partnership between a manufacturer and high school that strives to provide students with skills such as design, budgeting, welding and assembly during the building of the grills.
