Missouri Cures Education Foundation is a statewide non-profit alliance working to promote & protect medical advances to improve the health of Missourians and stimulate the economy in our state. Donations are tax-deductible & support education and outreach programs.
From the Director's Desk:
The Missouri Cures Education Foundation has gone virtual! We have always collaborated and connected with our supporters, volunteers, researchers and community leaders around the state to get our message out on the importance of medical research. During this challenging time, meeting face to face and networking in person is limited. Missouri Cures, like so many other organizations, has had to rethink how we connect and provide important information to our supporters so we have taken all of our 2020 events virtual!

The exciting part of going virtual is that no matter where you live around the state or around the country, you can be a part of all of our events. Below you will find information about our virtual Women in Science, Entrepreneurship and Research events and our Rare Disease Symposium. I hope you can join us for one or all of these informative events. Also, check out our new podcast, WISER Conversations which highlights successful women in science, entrepreneurship and research.

Stay well,

Meet the Researcher:
We are excited to introduce Dr. Yuksel Agca as our feature researcher. Dr. Agca is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine at University of Missouri Columbia. He and his team of researchers induced menopause in rats to study cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease with hormone depletion. According to Dr. Agca, “These animal models can be useful for future testing to examine the impact of a variety of other factors, such as alcohol, smoking, diet, exercise, hypertension or previous traumatic brain injuries.” Learn more about his work here.
