Tyler Albrecht was born and raised in Silicon Valley but currently resides in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Loomis with his wife Dana and two children. Having always expressed an interest in plants, just like his father, the two of them would often go to the local nurseries every weekend and find something new and exciting to bring home. Tyler’s father is initially responsible for introducing him to orchids with his small collection of Cymbidiums that grew so well outside all year at their Campbell CA home.

Having grown orchids for nearly all his life, with a short break after college, Tyler has been growing for over 30 years and is now a student judge with the AOS at the California Sierra Judging Center

OSNN POTLUCK SUMMER PICNIC

Saturday, June 27, 2026, 3:00 - 5:00pm

at the home of Joy Orlich

Our potluck picnic is a culinary feast accompanied by election of board members and a plant auction. Plant chairs Dan Maliniak and Lucas Salisbury promise some exotic and specialty plants this year!

Watch for a separate email to RSVP and tell us whether you'll be bringing salad, appetizer, entree, or dessert. Beverages will be provided.

Membership Chair Opening

Joy Orlich has agreed to take on the role of OSNN President starting in July, which means, we need a new Membership Chair!

The Membership Chair is responsible for bringing the Name Badges to each meeting, making tags for new members, and maintaining the membership roster via Excel spreadsheet. It doesn't involve a lot of time, only consistency in attending meetings and a little housekeeping on the backside. If you're interested, contact Joy at joyorlich@sbcglobal.net or Neal Winslow at nwinslow1@gmail.com.
