HOW DO WE WANT REVELSTOKE TO GROW IN THE NEXT 20 YEARS?
Our June Chamber engagement session will be a discussion to hear from our membership regarding our Official Community Plan (OCP).
What is the OCP?
  • Primary tool that provides guidance to a local government for vision, community priorities, and objectives to guide growth for the next 20 years.
  • Provides direction on topics such as land use, urban design, transportation, parks and public spaces, social planning, heritage, infrastructure, and environment.
  • Outlines policy from a wide range of subjects into one comprehensive strategy that sets the city on a path towards its long-term vision.

What is the timeframe for this process?
  • Last updated in 2009
  • October 2019-July 2020: Vision Check-In and Community Priorities process completed. Council has supported the outcomes.
  • March 2021: Population and Housing Projections report completed. This report will inform the phase of work in June 2021.
  • June 2021: Community Engagement regarding growth.
  • Before end of 2022: OCP Update complete.
  • Next Review: It is common practice for local governments to review the OCP every 3-5 years.
