New Feature Coming to HMIS!

We are excited to announce the integration of Power BI in HMIS as a part of our data analytics toolkit. Power BI will enable us to visualize and share insights from our live HMIS data more effectively, fostering informed decision-making within the organization. With its robust data modeling capabilities, we can now create interactive dashboards and reports that provide real-time insights into key performance metrics. This tool will streamline our reporting processes, enhance collaboration, and ultimately dive deeper into data analysis. The HMIS Team is currently exploring capabilities and working to develop policies, and will provide additional information in the coming months. We are excited for this new enhancement and the possibilities it brings to our community!

Homelink Priority Pool Update

Last month, during May's Homeless Response System Advisory Committee, it was agreed that no new clients will be added to the Priority Pool until the pool falls below 100. This is partly to minimize the Priority Pool to 100, which was decided at the Providers Subcommittee and approved by the Homeless Response System Advisory Committee in May. Exceptions will be made if the list does not meet the threshold for set-aside special populations (e.g. Domestic Violence Survivors, Veterans, etc.)

Updates as normal will be made the week following the Priority Pool falling below 100. If you have any questions, please email PatriciaGuzman@closetohomesa.org.

New Program Eligibility Form for APR in Sage

Beginning June 2, 2024, Annual Performance Report (APR) submissions and resubmissions in the Sage HMIS Reporting Repository (Sage) for the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program, Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), and projects funded through the Special Notice of Funding Opportunity (Special NOFO) Unsheltered Homelessness and Rural Set-Asides will be required to include a new Program Eligibility form.

You can read more about the new requirements by using the button below to take you to the Hud Exchange site:

Reminder for New Training Requests:

As a reminder, the official HMIS policy for training requests for new or returning users states that the form must be submitted by a direct manager or supervisor. Self-submissions will not be pushed forward until a direct report has signed off on the request. In order to prevent any confusion, please make sure the "Requestor" name and "Trainee" names are accurate in the correct order on the form.

Meet the Team!

This month we will be finishing our journey to introduce our HMIS Team to the rest of the community, so that you all can meet the incredible folks behind the screens.

Many of you may not be aware that the HMIS Team is now spread out all around the U.S., with 10 team members currently living across 5 different states. Here are the remaining three members of your local HMIS Team:

Ashley Boyer - HMIS Security and Compliance Specialist

Ashley was born and raised in rural Oregon, and worked as a Domestic Violence Advocate before moving down to San Antonio and joining the HMIS Team in mid-2021. When she isn't at home with her partner Dylan and their two tuxedo cats, she can often be found scoping out new restaurants or trying to find the best coffee shops in Central Texas.

Her other interests include baking, yoga, reading, concert-going, and world history.

Nina Gall - HMIS Director

Nina has been with the HMIS Team since 2017 and has held several different positions within the team. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Public Relations and a Master's degree in Business Administration. She was born and raised in San Antonio, but currently lives in Silsbee, TX with her two kids and her farm animals. Her interests include camping, horseback riding, going to the beach, reading, and rescuing animals.

Villian Asong - HMIS Database Administrator

And finally, we'd like to introduce the newest member of our team, Villian Asong! Villian has lived in Houston, TX for over five years and has visited Bexar County several times. A huge soccer fan, Villian also enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and traveling.
